Hansen Spewing Nonsense Is Almost Dead Certain

BAU scenarios result in global warming of the order of 3-6°C. It is this scenario for   which we assert that multi-meter sea level rise on the century time scale are not only possible, but almost dead certain.

The only thing that is dead certain is that Hansen has absolutely no clue what he is talking about.

What really damns the leftist’s credibility, is their undying devotion to known crooks and liars. But then, what else do they have?

    • Jimbo says:

I think that Hansen truly believes in what he says. Since 1988 he has deluded himself about his own importance. He needs to seek urgent psychological treatment for his mental condition.

This chart is remarkably similar to his 1989? 2010, 5 degrees of warming prediction. Perhaps you could combine them to one post.

  3. EternalOptimist says:

But what if, just what if he is right ? If the water vapour gets released, temperatures rocket from -60c to – 55c and then the ice caps all melt ? It could happen. Thats why I type this standing up, in case my @rse turns into a cream bun. Well, it could happen

Outstanding post! In fact, this would be a really good post to use as a reference to counter the bs the the fear mongering Chicken Littles spout about sea level.

In the 1950’s I used to go fishing in the estuary between Alameda and Oakland right at the approach end of the runway. Navy jets would come in less than 30′ over our heads to land. The same rocks I used to sit on then and from which I’d dangle my feet in the water is still there and the water level is still where it was then. Only the jets are gone. http://binged.it/1bjByxu

These Alameda homes didn’t exist at that time – nothing there but sand and these land-locked waterways then. I don’t see any signs of distress today except those houses are built on sand that was very much like quicksand. http://binged.it/17SNJ5D
But if Alameda slides under the waves, here’s why:

The area encompassed by NAS Alameda was historically a combination of submerged lands, tideland, and dry land. The site is relatively flat, with elevations ranging from sea level to 30 feet above sea level. The property occupies the flattest portion of Alameda, reflecting its origins as diked bay lands and mud flats. Much of the land now occupied by NAS Alameda was once covered by the waters of San Francisco Bay or was tidal flats. Much of the base was gradually filled using hydraulically placed dredge spoils from the surrounding San Francisco Bay, the Seaplane Lagoon at NAS Alameda, and the Oakland Channel. The first documented filling of tidal and submerged land began sometime during the 1890s. By 1927, the northern part of what later became NAS Alameda had been filled, chiefly with dredge materials from US Army Corps of Engineers (COE) projects associated with the Oakland Harbor and other harbors throughout the East Bay. Prior to 1930, at least two large industrial sites, a borax processing plant and an oil refinery, were located on the island near what is now the eastern end of NAS Alameda. The refinery was located at the site of the present-day Site 13.
