I guess someone never learned about economies of scale.

  2. Justa Joe says:

Wow… Kathy is bad at climate related issues and economics. can some warmist troll tell me why it’s a good idea for so-called cilmate scientist to be involved with ill conceived divestment campaigns?

The purported 90 companies’ products are used 10o% of the population and other companies.

  3. Bob Greene says:

The article is an attack on oil (energy) producing companies, inaccurately portraying them as the evil “polluters”. The levels of arrogance and stupidity are mind boggling. Do they really expect anyone to believe this or if you keep saying “evil big oil” long enough you’ll be believed. I’m glad I decided to drive the SUV today.

“Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.”

    • Jason Calley says:

Now that they have established the evil role of Big Oil, they will need to move to the other evil ones. I propose that the next big evil be Big Math. It’s time to demonize algebra, calculus, and anything beyond finger counting.

“Did you know that over 97% of the major polluters use Big Math? Yes, it’s true!”

  4. Pathway says:

Just another liberal who needs large doses of thorzine.

  5. Fred from Canuckistan says:

Well this news should warm her up a bit.

“Because There’s No Such Thing As “The Canadian Vote”
    Mexican pipeline approved;

An affiliate of Houston-based NET Midstream LLC has received approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to build and run a pipeline delivering Eagle Ford Shale natural gas to Mexico.

The company’s NET Mexico Pipeline Partners LLC has a long-term agreement to transport 2.1 billion cubic feet of gas per day with MGI Supply Ltd. a unit of Pemex Gas y Petroquimica Basica, Mexico’s state-owned gas company.”

  6. bill says:

What a moronic article in the Guardian and what silliness by Hayhoe. That is like saying the 70 largest grocery store companies are responsible for our food habit!

  7. And Katharine uses none of their products?

  8. John B., M.D. says:

Let Katharine divest her own nest egg. If she wants to put her life savings in a mattress, let her.

  9. John B., M.D. says:

Meanwhile, the climate agenda is failing globally: http://hotair.com/archives/2013/11/21/drama-yet-another-round-of-united-nations-climate-talks-ends-in-a-mass-walkout/

I’m shocked, shocked, that energy companies are most responsible for man-made CO2 emissions. I guess cow farts aren’t as big a pollutant as we were told.

  10. Phil Jones says:

This pronouncement exemplifies how rabid Progressives influence Public Opinion. Every week or 2 the Alarmists just throw something out there… Something hysterical or data less just to get in the news and promote Faux Global Warming….

Folks like us on here are always caught reacting.. Caught flat footed by another curve ball from Progressives … It takes us days to assemble the facts and attempt to get another view out there… But after a few days the Alarmists have already struck, won, and moved on to their next hype scheme … Of course they can’t do this without willing accomplices in the Media…

This 90 Companies BS is this weeks trash just flung out there.. Last week it was the Typhoon, 200mph winds biggest storm ever recorded mantra…. Then it was how Mamals will shrink in size due to Global Warming… Then it was a pool of water at the North Pole… Then it was how studies show there will be more Violence due to Global Warming… I could go on and on… Then it was denial of the Pause… Turned into AGW and Ocean temps somehow accelerating up!!

HOW can people with reasonable minds and some facts/data .. Like US on here take this on? Any ideas? Get ahead of the news curve somehow to combat this constant barrage of crazy hypotheticals and lies… How??

  11. tom0mason says:

Katharine here is a little something to add to your reading list –
Spontaneous abrupt climate change due to an atmospheric blocking–sea-ice–ocean feedback in an unforced climate model simulation.

  12. Mike D says:

Divesting? In order to divest, there must have been an investment to divest in the first place. So she is really talking about badgering others to divest and not herself or those like her.

  13. Andy DC says:

Yes, 2/3 of the conveniences of modern life are a result of 90 evil companies. We were so much better off wearing loin clothes and living in caves, back in the goold old days, when expectancy was 20.

  14. That 90 companies thing was a massive meme from the Warmists, propagating from COP19. Caught tons of them tweeting it out yesterday. Their Warmist masters told them what to say.

    • Justa Joe says:

The 90 companies mantra is the climate scammers equivalent to the “1%”.

It kinda shows that so-called climate science has it’s basis in the dialectical materialism philosophy of its leftist parentage.

  15. Larry Geiger says:

    Here, let me fix that:
“Over Industrial Era, just 90 companies have produced nearly 100% of the electricity used to heat Katharine’s house, feed her and her family, heat her home in the winter, pump the water that comes out of her faucet, light her house up at night and make nearly every consumer good that she uses, including the teddy bear she hugs at night to protect her when the under-the-bed monster comes out.”

  16. kirkmyers says:

What should shock us all is the fact that anyone would take Hayoe seriously. She’s an ignoramus (or, perhaps, she’s discovered a research funding gold mine). Which, of course, would explain her attachment to a fraudulent, discredited scientific theory.

Should be laugh at the woman or feel sorry for her?
