The counties just east of here are voting to secede from the Denver/Boulder Demokratik Republic today. Good luck to them.
Here in Fort Collins, the city is getting payback for their green agenda. There is a referendum to ban fracking, and the city stands to lose vast amounts of tax revenue thanks in part to their pushing BS all these years.
Can the counties indeed secede? Or is the vote just to show support?
Show support.
It would only start the process subject to a final vote in the legislature and Congress.
It’s like a bunch of guys all married to the same crazy control freak wife getting a permission to go to a pub to talk to each other about divorcing her. For those that agree they want out bad enough, the wife and a majority of her relatives, friends and neighbors would have to agree with the divorce.
They can secede, but will they succeed? I hope they can and do. As to Fort Collins, frack ’em.
They sound like the county in Pennsylvania that does not allow fracking while all the other counties around them do. The other counties are all prospering from the income, while this one remains poor. The fools keep voting the same politicians in that put the ban in effect. The EPA, no less, says there is no pollution in that county’s water table, but some con artist with doctored water sitting in front of his house is the image of fracking presented in the local media.
Perhaps you can go, as long as you KEEP PAYING TAXES.
“The power confided to me will be used to hold, occupy, and possess the property and places belonging to the Government and to collect the duties and imposts; but beyond what may be necessary for these objects, there will be no invasion, no using of force against or among the people anywhere.” This is what Lincoln told the Southerners. Then that hothead Pierre Gustave Toutant Beauregard shot at Fort Sumter, and it got real messy.
