    What a ridiculous statement and ignorant idea. Glass is not a gas. Gases are not solids. Our atmosphere has virtually no resemblance to a greenhouse, unless that greenhouse has no roof.

    Actually, It was known 100 years ago that all the frequencies of IR rays that could be absorbed by CO2 were being absorbed, thus, it was thought that adding CO2 would make no difference.
    However, that was before quantum mechanics and back radiation was understood.
    The end result should be, but as been shown not to be, is more H20 vapor. (higher humidity) in the atmosphere. (A feedback from the CO2) On a cloudy night it will stay warmer due to the greenhouse effect of the H20–which is by far the largest greenhouse gas.
    That is why in the dessert where the amount of H20 in the air is so low, it cools off a great deal at night. In Colorado summers, as Steve knows, air conditioning is rarely needed because the humidity is low, where as here in MN, it can be unbearable in the summer.
    However, I do not have pot smoke drifting into my house.
