1974 : MIT Scientist – “I wouldn’t trust anyone who said he could predict climate”

I’m honoured to know I share beliefs with a MIT Scientist.
Thanks!!
Heck even the IPCC said the same thing
The IPCC said in the Science Report in TAR:
I wouldn’t trust anyone from Government or Major Media. All they ever do is lie.
Science fiction writers have a much better success rate than weather and climate necromancers.

I should have realised it would be terrible when I saw the buttfeed logo.
More than half of the predictions boiled down to, “We’re going to see things that were invented in the 1920s & 30s (or 1890s in the case of the escalator (which is not the moving sidewalk that Asimov envisioned at all)) become commonplace.” The others were simply wrong, & the buttfeed simians didn’t grasp that their pictures entirely missed the point in an attempt to show something vaguely resembling “frighteningly accurate”.
Upshot: don’t believe what you get from people who can’t count past 9 without removing their shoes.
On the one hand: that was 40 years ago; on the other: things haven’t changed much.
Charney chaired a report into CO2 and its effect back in 1979:

..and the uncertainties involved were front and centre. Again, not much has changed since then.
50 years ago, not 40.
Since when does 2014 minus1974 equal 50?
I have a deep, personal connection with the year 1974, & I have to agree, it’s 40, not 50.
Steve mostly seems to embody and thus by example teach this advertising hero philosophy:
“The years that I spent in advertising I saw an awful lot of people who had the potential to be good lose a lot of their ability to distraction, to politics, to fear, and to who has the bigger office. You’ll get the bigger office; you’ll make the money. Anything you want will happen, but sometimes it’s hard for people to see that when they’re in the middle of it. It looks like it’s incredibly complicated. Well, it’s not complicated at all. In fact, it’s so uncomplicated it’s amazing. All it is about is the work. Finally, if you do the work people will notice and you will get what you want. That’s it. It’s as simple as that.” – Tom McElligott

1974!
Asimov was speaking in 1964. 50 years. First few seconds of the video. Duh.

Not sure I can see Jim Hansen as the menacing character in the Hobbit.
