Could The Broncos Have Won If Seattle Didn’t Show Up?

Based on the first play of the game, it is questionable that the Broncos could have won even if there was no opposition.

Aliens hijacked the real Broncos and replaced them with drones…

    NO …

I know the Bronco’s bus got lost on the way to the stadium, somewhere between Newark and Little Silver, but did anyone hear if they finally found it or not?

Could the Broncos have won if Seattle didn’t show up?

Of course, but it would have taken them six plays to score.

  4. Andy DC says:

Brady will go down in history ahead of Payton Manning. Even the retard brother Eli has won more Super Bowls.

  5. Sundance says:

Would league rules have allowed the Broncos to come out wearing pink mini skirts in the second half? Such a tactic might have shocked the Seahawks and turned the tide for the Broncos in the 2nd half. If not it would have prevented me from changing the channel after the 2nd half opening kickoff to Seattle that was run back for a TD and at the very least it would allowed the Broncos to salvage something from the game in showing support for breast cancer awareness.

  6. Manning made some of the best passes I’ve ever seen. If only he had thrown the ball to members of his own team….

I watched a bit of game over here in the UK. Watching the opening play made me wonder whether the influence of the Pakistani bookmakers also extended to the USA.

I think you are onto something there. What would the odds be of Peyton having a safety on his first play? 500 to 1? More? I think it is a strong possibility that Hansie Cronje did not die in a plane crash.

At halftime they were lucky to have scored nought!

I’m amazed so many people expected Denver to win. (With allowances for Denver fans.)

So much for expert opinion. And I thought it was well understood that good defense usually will winout over good offense. 4 out of 5 Superbowl winners can attest to that. That may not be as impressive as 97%, but unless you are a Broncos fan, you’d have to be fairly dumb to have bet against the Hawks.

For full disclosure – even though I’m still a Redskins fan (another time to have put a Superbowl whooping on Denver), my stepson has been a Seahawks fan since about the age of 5 and my new son-in-law is a season ticket holder. People up here are still wearing their Seahawks attire today.

My father, who was a football fan all his life, always said, “Offense sells tickets, but defense wins championships.” He passed away some years ago in his sleep while watching Monday Night Football. RIP.

Seattle Seahawks are an amazing and awesome team. Anyone who watched them shut out the Giants late in the season should have expected similar results against the Broncos.

    Old joke adapted..
First quarter and their team ahead Quarter back says to rest of team
OK Guys I’ve got this you go down the pub.
Later when the meet at the pub team says what was the score?
Well it was a bit embarising they got 3 points
    Team says that’s ok..
QB says yeah but I got sent off at half time!

Tens of millions of dollars from taxpayers to show how great it is to live in a police state. The game was not the important part.

  12. Brad says:

Seahawks defense out scored the Broncos…8>}~

  13. Bob Knows says:

Peyton Manning and the Bronco offense could not out-score the Seahawk defense. Seahawk defense scored 9 points from the Bronco offense, a Safety and a TD/point. Bronco offense only managed 8 points against the Seahawk defense. Final score for Bronco offense. Seattle 9, Bronco offense 8. Obviously the Seahawk offense did not have to take the field. Manning and the Bronco offense could not manage to score more points than Seattle even while they had the ball.

The SB was similar to a pre-season game that Denver lost to Seattle, 10 to 40.
