In 1981, Hansen predicted this CO2 warming. This is from his conservative days, which Gavin’s FakeClimate likes to brag about.
I overlaid GISS 1997 global temperatures on top of Hansen’s 1981 forecasts for CO2 warming. It shows that most warming occurred before CO2 warming “kicked in.”
Warming by 1940 was 5X CO2 warming.. A special thanks James Hansen for proving that natural variability overwhelms CO2.

So he predicted in 1981, that it would warm from 1940 to 1981, when it had in fact already cooled from 1940 to 1981?
Just a few more years of adjustments for giss to prove him correct.after all.
The GISS record evolves towards consensual
sexscience.Haha, he predicts that a linear increase in CO2 will lead to an exponential increase in temperature. If that were even vaguely true the Earth would be a glowing cinder of silicon & iron as of about 100,000,000 years ago.
Compare your second graph above with this one at USAToday in October 2010, which I have previously referenced in comments on this site (for example, here, last September). They are essentially the same graph.
It was well known, when I first looked into the climate science debate about 4 years ago, that “global warming” was attributed (by many scientists, if not the activist alarmists like Hansen) primarily to observed changes in incident solar energy through the first half of the 20th century, and to CO2 in the second half. What no one realized, but I noted on my own and tried to point out over the last 3 to 4 years, is that what those graphs really show is that the climate scientists really could only show a correlation between CO2 and temperature between 1976 and 2000, approximately (and, in your post of last September–see the above link–it became clear that the correlation was really only good between 1976 and 1989 or so).
By the way, when I first saw that USAToday graph, I commented on the site, “As an independent scientist, I do not hesitate to call this what it is: fraudulent science. This is very ugly, raw political propaganda in the name of science.”
Overlaying the 1997 temperatures on the other page 9 graph, you can also see what a nonsense his CO2 temperature sensitivity calculations were:

In fact, looking at this – I’ll beat this is why he went into full-blown end-of-the-World meltdown mode. In 1981 he thought that even with a climate sensitivity of 5.6C, the temps would rise more slowly than they did. When they jumped in the 1980’s, it must have seemed like it was much, much worse than he’d predicted. Cue predictions of (and true belief in) Armaggedon.
What fantasy world does Hansen live in? And can I get my money back?
Reblogged this on The Firewall.
You obviously know nothing about the topic, and as a typical denialist, simply blather on and on and on. Here’s a really simple connect-the-dots exercise for you, genius. Take the graph you have above, and connect the local minima of the GISS data. That effectively plots a line coincident with Hansen’s unrefined predictions back 33 years ago. The science has advanced since then, and the message is even clearer now. You clowns can attack personalities, scientific uncertainties, and natural “noise” all you want. But if you really REALLY believed in what you say, then please, invest heavily in beachfront property in Florida, NOW, while it’s still cheap. Then let me know how that worked out for you, say in 2060 or so.
Your level of stupidity is off-scale
I wish my dad had bought some of this Florida beachfront property 60 years ago. If he had it would be mine today and I would be as rich as Gore!

$1.69 million for 2 bedroom beachfront condos.
Prices are collapsing catastrophically due to climate doom…..NOT

PS Here is a chart Doktor. You’ll see the patient (Miami) is quite healthy and not in need of any surgery.

My family has lived on the water in Florida for generations, and have never seen any sea level rise. In fact, they have seen the quietest hurricane seasons on record lately. But do stick to your guns, buy that Antarctic retirement home, and we will see who has regrets in 2060. 😆
I’d say that climate science has definitely advanced in its ability to bamboozle a lot of hapless and gullible people. If this is considered progress then, unfortunately, I don’t have any Florida beachfront property to sell to the good doctor, but I do have a bridge…

I bought a houseboat and tied it to the shore in The Bay of Fundy. Every 6 hours it’s a houseboat and every other 6 hours it’s a house. That’s when we flush the toilets.
