Looking Forward To The Recovery Summer

Obama is focused like a laser on jobs, and climate, and golf, and health care, and hijacking Evo Morale’s plane.

I thought you were talking about Arctic ice recovery and could not figure out what the chart was supposed to show. Duh!

The unemployment rate should be ignored. It was invented in the late 1800s by a statistician who wanted to hide the high unemployment of the Long Depression. In our current economy it accurately measures the Optimism rate among the unemployed. That optimism is going down.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics on data provided by the Census Bureau. The Census Bureau used to be part of the Commerce Dept.
One of the first actions of the Zero administration was to move the Census Bureau under White House control. Gee I wonder why.
Another initiative of the current regime was to change the way GDP is calculated. In essence it added a lot of R&D and other monies to GDP. It was expected to add 3% to the GDP. Last quarter the economy grew at 3.2% using the new method. Under the old it would have been about 0.2% and 0.2% is indicative of an economy in the tank.

You forgot that he has been focused like a laser on screwing the middle class to death since day 1.

    True unemployment: http://www.shadowstats.com/alternate_data/unemployment-charts
It takes about 175,000 new jobs each month for the unemployment rate to just stay even. There were months during Obama’s early reign that the number of jobs created was “zero” and yet; the unemployment rate went down for that period. But there are too many low information people who are incapable of putting two and two together and coming up with “liar”.

      You beat me to it.

Did you see this even more telling graph at Shadowstat?
It is the unpublished Bureau of labor Stats bar chart by job category.
      http://www.shadowstats.com/imgs/charts/employment/payroll_growth_since_Dec2007.gif

Changes in Payroll Employment by Sector from Dec 2007 to Oct 2011. Total number of jobs down by 6.5 million. No wonder the results are not published!

It astonishes me that all the business reporting cannot remember a number over a day. Review the Labor Dept. weekly initial claims that comes out every Thursday against the new hire report on Friday.
for this week – In the week ending February 15, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims was 336,000, a decrease of 3,000 from the previous week’s unrevised figure of 339,000. The 4-week moving average was 338,500, an increase of 1,750 from the previous week’s unrevised average of 336,750.

Watch tomorrows reporting on new jobs and see if is over these numbers. As I have checked over the last few years initial is always over new.

OT but same headline. “Looking forward to the recovery summer”
Up to 200mm of global worming drought fell across Queensland over the last couple of days.
In most inland arid areas thats 50% of the annual rainfall. The Australian carbon tax has worked. It broke the drought in a little over 18 months!! Who knew it was so powerful a tax?
