Winston Churchill joined the military as a youth, fought in many wars, escaped POW camp and then rejoined the military, resisted appeasers and was there at D-Day.
Appeaser Barack Obama played golf, was nowhere to be found during Benghazi, lied about his past and removed Churchill’s bust from the White House.
Obama did however heal the planet in 2008.
Obama did not remove Churchill’s bust from the Whitehouse.
Quite right, he moved it from the Oval Office, where he would have to look at it each day, to the Treaty room, where no one would ever look at it.
I have no idea what or where the Treaty room is, but pictures present a row of porcelain basins stuck against the wall. G W Bush said it was one of his favourite rooms, and Obama spends a lot of time there.
There has to be a steam bath joke in there somewhere.
Yep.
Is this fair?
Try George W Bush and Churchill for comparison
Military record for Bush …….stayed at home safe!
Who said any of us think highly of The Bush, The Shrub., or The Twig? I can’t stand any of them. None were ever for anyone but themselves and their international corporate buddies.
The Bush made the first stab at getting WTO ratified. When he failed they switched parties, as they did with the Federal Reserve Act and got it ratified under Clinton. The Shrub gave us the UN-Patriot Act while helping Saudi’s leave the US during the Airport lock downs after 9-11. He also gave us the Bank Bailouts where American Tax Payer money was shipped out of the country to help the International bankers instead of using the $$$ to help Americans stay in their homes. There is a lot more nasties of course. Given the low polling numbers of the Twig, I think most Republicans and Independents have seen through the hype and want nothing to do with a re-run from that family of traitors.
If you want a comparison pick someone most of us agree was the best president of our lifetime/the 20th Century. We were just discussing that yesterday starting HERE – IKE
LOL! Always the same. It’s all about GWB!
I researched GWBs military record long ago. Bush was a pilot of an F-102 which was the USAFs first supersonic all weather interceptor and introduced “fly by wire” technology. Bush was promoted twice and had excellent Officer Evaluation Reports during his service with the Texas ANG. His unit, the 111th Fighter Squadron was never deployed to Vietnam where the F-102 was used in limited numbers as an interceptor and bomber escort from 1962 to 68. Though over 1,000 ANG personnel did Volunteer to serve in Vietnam. However Bush wasn’t even commissioned as an officer until 1968 and did not finish his initial pilot training until June 1970! The Peace Talks had began in January 1969 and by the end of that year US commitment of forces to Vietnam was winding down. With the US commitment to the war winding down in the early 70s many Active duty personnel, including pilots, were returning home and opting for service in reserve components, including the ANG. Thus Bush like many others were allowed to leave the service prior to the fulfillment of their original enlistment commitments. Context, Context, Context.
BTW Eisenhower stayed home and safe during WW I!
But, but………HE hunted down and killed OBL! Just ask him!
Churchill never stopped a Category 2 hurricane anytime during his life, thus Obama obviously has provided far greater leadership.
Unfortunately, Obama was unable to stop Superstorm Sandy, but his passionate lovefest on the beach with Governor Christie inspired and healed the nation during one of its darkest hours.
Hey Andy! I think you have just discovered a replacement for Ipecac.
(I keep seeing the beach scene from “On The Beach” but with Obama and Christie…)
Oh come on, give Skeeter a break. After all, this is his first real job.
OUCH!
I am not even an American, but I cannot wait to see the last of Obummer.
Great post Tony…

Good point Gail I had not read the previous thread.
I would be regarded as a libertarian socialist but I have much in common with the libertarian conservative outlook.
Churchill was an outstanding personality and war leader.
He had his flaws though.
For instance he was quite able to sit with Stalin and divide up the world into ‘spheres of influence’ after WWII.
Poland 90% soviet ,10% UK
Greece 90% UK, 10% soviet and so on.
His big contribution to the World was an early recognition of the NAZI menace.
In 1939 he thought that the Red Army occupation of the East Baltic was preferential to the other practical alternative, the Wehrmacht.

However there is a chance element in historical fame
“Cometh the hour cometh the man” has many good examples
https://www.quora.com/Cometh-the-hour-cometh-the-man-What-are-some-real-life-examples-of-this-saying-being-realised
On US Presidents, Franklin D. Roosevelt is similarly highly regarded for pulling the USA out of the deadly slump.
What else is he remembered for?
“He had his flaws though.
For instance he was quite able to sit with Stalin and divide up the world into ‘spheres of influence’ after WWII.”
How is this a flaw”?
He was a brilliant analyst and writer.
“[Had the US not entered WWI] … peace would have been made with Germany; and there would have been no collapse in Russia leading to Communism; no breakdown of government in Italy followed by Fascism; and Nazism never would have gained ascendancy in Germany.”
Winston Churchill, Social Justice Magazine, July 3 (1939
No t bery nice man, but brilliant
“We will force this war upon Hitler, if he wants it or not.” — Winston Churchill (1936 broadcast)
“Germany becomes too powerful. We have to crush it.” — Winston Churchill (November 1936 speaking to US – General Robert E. Wood)
“The war wasn’t only about abolishing fascism, but to conquer sales markets. We could have, if we had intended so, prevented this war from breaking out without doing one shot, but we didn’t want to.” — Winston Churchill to Truman (Fultun, USA March 1946)
“Germany’s unforgivable crime before WW2 was its attempt to loosen its economy out of the world trade system and to build up an independent exchange system from which the world-finance couldn’t profit anymore. …We butchered the wrong pig.” — Winston Churchill (The Second World War – Bern, 1960)
Thanks, I was wondering what the back story on that was. The victors write the history and Americans have been fed complete falsehoods for years.
A bit more on WWI
The USA was dragged into WWI by JP Morgan and friends in the war business by capturing the news media in 1915. J.P Morgan has been in control of the MSM ever since. link
. False Flag at Sea: The Lusitania, Woodrow Wilson, and the Deceptions that Dragged America into World War I ( The Lusitania, a British ocean line)
Later the book Why Is Your Country at War by Congressman C.A. Lindbergh 1917 was censored. (So much for free speech)
“‘In the early years of the War great efforts were made by the Zionist Leaders, Dr. Weizmann and Mr. Sokolow, chiefly through the late Mr. C. P. Scott of the Manchester Guardian, and Sir Herbert Samuel, to induce the Cabinet to espouse the cause of Zionism.
‘These efforts were, however, without avail. In fact, Sir Herbert Samuel has publicly stated that he had no share in the initiation of the negotiations which led to the Balfour Declaration. (England and Palestine, a lecture delivered by Sir Herbert Samuel and published by the Jewish Historical Society, February 1936.) The actual initiator was Mr. James A. Malcolm and the following is a brief account of the circumstances in which the negotiations took place.
‘During the critical days of 1916 and of the impending defection of Russia, Jewry, as a whole, was against the Czarist regime and had hopes that Germany, if victorious, would in certain circumstances give them Palestine. Several attempts to bring America into the War on the side of the Allies by influencing influential Jewish opinion were made and had failed. Mr. James A. Malcolm, who was already aware of German pre-war efforts to secure a foothold in Palestine through the Zionist Jews and of the abortive Anglo-French démarches at Washington and New York; and knew that Mr. Woodrow Wilson, for good and sufficient reasons, ”
“‘An interesting account of the negotiations carried on in London and Paris, and subsequent developments, has already appeared in the Jewish press and need not be repeated here in detail, except to recall that immediately after the ‘gentleman’s’ agreement between Sir Mark Sykes, authorized by the War Cabinet, and the Zionist leaders, cable facilities through the War Office, the Foreign Office and British Embassies, Legations, etc., were given to the latter to communicate the glad tidings to their friends and organizations in America and elsewhere, and the change in official and public opinion as reflected in the American press in favour of joining the Allies in the War, was as gratifying as it was surprisingly rapid.
‘The Balfour Declaration, in the words of Prof. H. M. V. Temperley, was a “definite contract between the British Government and Jewry” (History of the Peace Conference in Paris, vol. 6, p. 173). The main consideration given by the Jewish people (represented at the time by the leaders of the Zionist Organization) was their help in bringing President Wilson to the aid of the Allies. Moreover, officially interpreted at the time by Lord Robert Cecil as ‘Judea for the Jews’ in the same sense as ‘Arabia for the Arabs’, the Declaration sent a thrill throughout the world. The prior Sykes-Picot Treaty of 1916, according to which Northern Palestine was to be politically detached and included in Syria (French sphere), was subsequently, at the instance of the Zionist leaders, amended (by the Franco-British Convention of December 1920, Cmd. 1195) so that the Jewish National Home should comprise the whole of Palestine in accordance with the promise previously made to them for their services by the British, Allied and American Governments, and to give full effect to the Balfour Declaration, the terms of which had been settled and known to all Allied and associated belligerents, including Arabs, before they were made public.”
Quid pro Quo, and screwed the Arabs and the world.
PJ,
It would seem that Gadhafi’s fall from grace was the same reason that Germany got whacked during WWI.
The BRICS countries are doing the same challenging the international bankers and suddenly Russia is on the sh…t list and China is headed that way.
Can you say WWIII?
Sorry Gail I think you are referring to WWII.
“Hitler’s economic miracle
The Nazis came to power in Germany in 1933, at a time when its economy was in total collapse, with ruinous war-reparation obligations and zero prospects for foreign investment or credit. Yet through an independent monetary policy of sovereign credit and a full-employment public-works program, the Third Reich was able to turn a bankrupt Germany, stripped of overseas colonies it could exploit, into the strongest economy in Europe within four years, even before armament spending began. In fact, German economic recovery preceded and later enabled German rearmament, in contrast to the US economy, where constitutional roadblocks placed by the US Supreme Court on the New Deal delayed economic recovery until US entry to World War II put the US market economy on a war footing. While this observation is not an endorsement for Nazi philosophy, the effectiveness of German economic policy in this period, some of which had been started during the last phase of the Weimar Republic, is undeniable. ”
Again Churchill nailed it referring to WWI
He said : ”
“Should Germany merchandise (?active dominant trading??) again in the next 50 years we have led this war (WW1) in vain.” — Winston Churchill in Times (1919)
The biggest fear in Europe for the last 400 years is that Russia (with its’ resources) and Germany (with its’ industry) become allies. Still scares the crap out of the Anglo-Americs.
Thus the latest war on Russia, they got too friendly with Merkel. However thanks to NSA she saw the light.
I do not have the time to dig them all out but Germany after WWI got the money for her rebuilding from the American bankers so America was stripped of her wealth and it was given to Germany to pay for the public works. Remember Warburg was a German Jew and the Federal Reserve was his.
Here is one:
McFadden Speech before Congress.
“..On US Presidents, Franklin D. Roosevelt is similarly highly regarded for pulling the USA out of the deadly slump. What else is he remembered for?…..”
Actually he is more honestly remembered for:
1. Prolonging the depression via major interference with the market.
How FDR Made the Depression Worse
2. Confiscating American civilian gold by Executive order and giving it to the international bankers. Executive Order 6102 signed on April 5, 1933 authorized the confiscation of private gold. That gold was supposed to support the US dollar however the actual deal was, while citizens could not swap gold for paper money foreign bankers could so the gold flowed out of the USA into international banking coffers until Nixon in desperation closed the door and took the dollar off the gold standard. Only foreigners were legally able to turn in their US dollars and get gold from the US Government from 1934 to 1971.
As a result of FDR Fort Knox is likely empty. The FED has been resisting a real audit for years.
The Great American Disaster: How Much Gold Remains In Fort Knox?
Has the Federal Reserve Sold the Gold at Fort Knox?
The most treasonous act of FDR was his international agreement to destroy US Sovereignty.
Explanation:
FDRs term in office was from March 4, 1933 – April 12, 1945 so he is the one who agreed to ” building a new international order — and an approach to international relations that questioned the Westphalian, sacrosanct principle of sovereignty”
Westphalian principle of sovereignty

Progressives/Socialists/Communists/Fabians are very very good at taking a word or concept and twisting it to their advantage. Since their goal is Tyranny and enslavement or the death of all. There are not about to tell the truth.
The Fabian Wolf now hanging in the London School of Economics where the world leaders in politics, banking and industry are trained. Amid much celebration it was installed by UK ex Prime Minester Tony Blair with Bill Clinton in attendence.

It doesn’t go down to well with some. Another good one sentence description:
If you have not read it, this is the main reason for the Libyan take down.
Not just the money, although that was important, not just the gold, that was a bonus, not the fact that he had created a “utopia” in the desert, not just the greatest engineering feat since the pyramids, but he implemented the concepts that replace all the current control mechanisms, and it was working, brilliantly.
All Arab countries were looking, and Saudi was cr*pping themselves.

At thirty three pages I will have to read that a bit later. I do know Fabian Socialist Tony Blair got Qaddafi’s son into the London School of Economics so he would have a really good idea of what the Elite were up to. LSE is the training center for the political, financial and corporate international elite.
Also Tony Blair was sent to the Middle East by JP Morgan and the UN no doubt to talk some ‘sense’ in to Qaddafi just before the entire mess exploded.

My great Uncle had a small gold mine in central California.FDR’s orders had all his gold taken and the federal government paid him 30% of its open market value. By the way having a gold mine and being rich are not synonymous.
FDR didn’t pull the USA out the deadly slump of the Great depression. WWII did that.
FDRs greatest contributions were seeing early on the US was not going to be able to stay out of it and beginning early mobilization and the build up of the US military. His continued correspondence with that “former Naval Person”, (Churchill) was critical during the years before Pearl Harbor. FDR fought and snuck and scraped to do everything he possibly could to go through or get around a recalcitrant congress and neutrality in order to help Great Britain survive and then quickly jumped in to help the UK send critical supplies to Russia after Hitler kicked off Barbarossa in June 1941. The first supplies to the Soviets originating in the US arrived via a British convoy in August 1941.
The immensity of the task Churchill faced never seemed to faze him mentally but did cause him to break down physically a couple times during the war. Upon becoming PM he gathered up the threads of power, reorganized the government quickly and effectively to a total war footing and delegated magnificently while retaining the key positions of authority for himself in order to maintain control. Thus he found time to get involved in what some would consider minutia, like the selection of the type of helmets that observers would use and ordering the creation of a special medal for the bomb disposal squads. It was he that was the driving force behind the creation of the commandos which he initially called “hunters”.
He quickly and correctly identified the fact that the fight to maintain lines of communications was vital for the survival of the Kingdom and that if that battle was lost the war would be lost. He made it clear that battle was the one that caused him the most worry over the course of the first years of the war. It was Churchill that was the driving force behind the invention of the LST (Landing Ship Tank) that would become so critical for the coming amphibious operations. It was Churchill that first conceived the idea of turning merchant ships into small aircraft carriers which evolved into the “Escort Carriers” which were vital for the winning of the Battle of the Atlantic and became a critical component of the US Navy fleet for their operations in the Pacific.
I have to interject something which I just recently heard and believe to not be true, but why stop a good story?
As Winston Churchill lay in his deathbed he eventually became unresponsive. One of the observers remarked, “I think he is gone” but a nurse at his bedside felt of his feet and said, “No. His feet are still warm. No one dies with warm feet.” At that point, Churchill open his eyes one last time. His final words were, “Joan of Arc did…”
I’ll have to remember that.
According to:
http://corsinet.com/braincandy/dying.html
“I’m bored with it all.”
Before slipping into a coma. He died 9 days later.
~~ Winston Churchill, statesman, d. January 24, 1965
Which is also why those who know history bristled when Hugh Hewitt asked Dr. Carson in the December debate whether he would be as “ruthless” as Churchill in a war.
“Ruthless” in a war?

Sorry forgot the Blurb ….. Uploaded on Feb 15, 2011
A classic interview by Professor Antony Sutton, who taught economics at California State University, and was a research fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution.
In this talk, Prof. Sutton goes into his impeccable research on how a close-knit group of Western financiers and industrialists (centered around Morgan and Rockefeller in the US, and around Milner and the City financiers, in the UK) created and sustained their three supposed enemies right from the very beginning: Soviet Russia, Nazi Germany, and FDR’s Fabian socialism.
Particularly, he goes into how Wall Street/City of London financiers used their banking institutions and their industrial enterprises to:
1) Help finance and sustain the Bolshevik Revolution. Build up Soviet industry during Lenin’s Five-Year Plans, both through finance, technology/industrial transfers and technical assistance. Continue to build the Soviets throughout the entire Cold War, through the same kinds of deals. This included the Korea and the Vietnam eras, during which American troops were being killed by… Western-made Soviet equipment.
2) Build up Nazi Germany, both financially and industrially;
3) Get FDR into power in America as their man, and even draw up the New Deal policies, especially FDR’s National Recovery Act — designed by Gerard Swopes of General Electric and deeply welcomed by Wall Streeters Morgan, Warburg and Rockefeller.
Sutton was not a wild speculator. He was a distinguished academic researcher who documented his conclusions impeccably in his several works. Not being able to counter his research, the establishment (including academia) simply attempts to ignore it, and pretend it isn’t there.
The purpose for these Wall Street policies was very simple: to create, and globalize, what Sutton calls Corporate Socialism. A system under which everything in society is ruled by the state, and the state is, in its stead, controlled by financiers who, hence, get to rule and manage society, to their liking. In other words, to get society to work for the financiers, using a socialist state as an intermediary.
This is what we now know as the globalization economic model. As a result of all the clashes of the 20th century, most notably WWII and the Cold War (fought between powers that were manipulated and controlled by these banker cliques), the world has been ‘globalized’. Meaning that it has been entirely taken over by these financiers, and is ever closer to being completely ruled by them, through not only the national states and national central banking systems, but mainly through supranational agencies and institutions.
Go into Professor Sutton’s books, most notably the Hoover Institute’s series on Western technological/industrial transfers to the Soviets and the ‘Wall Street’ trilogy. If you have a difficulty in purchasing the original books, you’ll find most of them are easily available online, on pdf form
Thanks for that Allan,
I had come to the same conclusion myself but had not read anything by Sutton.
Were it not for the fact that Churchill was a psychopathic war monger and alcoholic, he might be considered an admirable man. Obama is a foggy minded sociopath but a fairly good puppet by all accounts. He does not possess the literary skills that Churchill had, but both received Nobel Prizes though for different things. Churchill was Jewish and we are not sure what Obama is?
