I’ve been getting lots of requests to do video presentations. Here is the first one, about the extreme weather of 1936.

This is even more remarkable in view of the growth of metropolitan areas and their heat bubbles since 1936.

  2. Steve Case says:

    Time mark, 435

The only thing extreme about the year 2016 was that it was extremely mild.

Excellent! Now where did you hear that one before (-:

Setup a vid.me account and post it there also. No commercials, and no censoring. They work on tips there. And if you’re not monetizing your vids, you can just plug in the youtube URL and it’ll upload it that way. I say that because I transferred a couple of my dinky vids there that way, and when I applied to be verified, they said that some of the content wasn’t mine. I assumed that’s what they meant. But being “verified” is only for those wanting to upload vids over 30 minutes, or tag them in a category (Tech, etc.)…

If the past doesn’t fit the narrative don’t teach it at school.

  5. RAH says:

What is great about this video is that one doesn’t have to be into climate, or weather, or even history to realize the value of having an idea how bad it can get based on how bad it has gotten before within the lifetimes of people still around today.

  6. Ivan says:

It would probably be possible to do a similar one on the mid 1890s extreme years as well.

    • Andy DC says:

You could do a whole a whole video on the 1893 hurricane season, when there were multiple landfalling major hurricanes that killed thousands of people. Also a direct hurricane hit for NYC.

  7. CO2isLife says:

    Fantastic, hope to see more.

  8. toorightmate says:

    Excellent.
I hope this video has high influence on those who need to be influenced that CO2 controlling climate is a crock of sh*t.

  9. Andy DC says:

Fantastic video! Should be shown in every classroom to counteract the extreme misinformation and brainwashing that kids have been subjected to.

Hate to knit pick, but the highest temperature in North Dakota during July 1936 was 121. To show that was no fluke, there was another station that was 120 and yet a third was 119. A woman described the hot wind, that instantly caused leaves on trees to curl up and die.

During the 1936 coldwave, there was a station in North Dakota that never got above 0 F for 6 solid weeks! Stations averaged as low as -17 F during February 1936.

I wish there was some way to include the 1935 Labor Day hurricane, by far the most intense hurricane in US history. Maybe revise the video to cover the period from September 1935 through August 1936, a one year period.

A good start, Tony. Well done.

There’s definitely scope for some killer videos where you explain in layman’s terms the consequences of the data. (malfeasance, data manipulation, no trend, tiny century-long rates etc) Most members of the public are disinterested and won’t have the inclination to work things out for themselves. Having it spelled out in front of them by a credible person in terms they understand will be a big step forward.

  11. richard says:

Excellent and great voice which makes it easy watching.

  12. AndyG55 says:

    Tony, great work.

just a tiny bit slower on the speaking.

    Project a bit more.

  13. richard verney says:

    Well done.

Very good video. Nice and short straight to the point.

Great idea, hopefully there will be more in the series. Now how circulate it to a wider audience? Perhaps everyone should send a link to their Senator/Congressman/MP etc

  14. Robertv says:

    Weather manipulation in 1936.

Gambling With Gulf Stream Aka Gambling On The Gulfstream

  15. SxyxS says:

If such an extreme weather would happen these days
they”d instantly install 2 world wide carbon taxes
and leftis would start committing mass suicide
while the other half of them would be protesting against co2
for the next 10 years every day.

  16. Greg says:

Excellent video. Reality always beats fantasy and delusion.

  17. Ralph says:

    BRAVO Tony! Great presentation!

  18. mkelly says:

As we used to say in the navy BZ. Bravo Zulu.

  19. Edmonton Al says:

    Great vid Tony………
This, for starters, should be required viewing by NOAA staff……….

  20. Johnboyltd says:

Good start to a series Tony keep them coming.
