What Are Climate Scientists Doing Anyway?

Scientists are releasing study after study showing that CO2 makes summers hotter and causes more hot days, but NOAA data shows the exact opposite.

This is the point where climate alarmists jump in and say “the US is only 5% of the Earth.” According to NOAA, the US is the only place where we have significant amounts of long term data.

That is why US data tampering is so important. When they tamper with US data, they are tampering with the whole world.

These people are not doing science. They are engaged in criminal racketeering and fraud, and need to be exposed and have all their funding cut off. There is zero evidence behind their claims.

The BOM in Australia has been caught red handed destroying historical temperature data. Destruction is the ultimate form of “adjustment”.

    Given:

    1. CO2 is said to be a well mixed gas and therefore operates in like manner on a global scale (subject to differences in humidity/water vapour feedback); and
2 The US is a large tract of Northern Hemisphere land; and
    3. The US is a good representative sample of geography and topography, and is therefore a valid sub set of the behavoir of land masses in the Northern Hemisphere;
    4. The US has the best sampling of data of any significant land surface.

If the US is not showing warming (the US was warmest in the 1930s/1940s), one would needs a strong explanation as to why the US is an outlier and not behaving in the same manner as the Northern Hemisphere as a whole.

The fact is that when you have good quality data, there is no warming, just multidecadal variations, seriously begs the question as to the quality and validity of the data for other areas, and whether the so called AGW thing is just a data issue brought about the manner in which poor quality data with insufficient spatial coverage is presented.

There is no question that greenhouse gases, all other things being equal, causes warming. The problem is that not all other things are equal.

    • GW Smith says:

I agree with his hypothesis, but when he ends by saying CO2 “causes” warming I balk. It absorbs heat and radiates it back until it attains equilibrium with it’s surroundings. It doesn’t create or cause heat, it only prolongs heat. It is not a new found source of energy. This kind of linguistic error is what got us into this mess.

Meanwhile, “Juliana v. U.S” winds it’s way through District Court; wherein a group of Oregon high school students – joined by James Hansen’s granddaughter just to give it some street cred – are claiming their life, liberty, and property are threatened – by way of the 5th amendment. Reading the complaint, you get the impression these poor kids are afraid to leave their front porch in the morning https://static1.squarespace.com/static/571d109b04426270152febe0/t/57a35ac5ebbd1ac03847eece/1470323398409/YouthAmendedComplaintAgainstUS.pdf

“Kelsey depends on the freshwaters of Oregon for drinking, hygiene, and recreation. She drinks the freshwater that flows from the McKenzie River and drinks from springs in the Oregon Cascades on hiking, canoeing, and backpacking trips. Kelsey also depends upon the marine and estuarine waters of Oregon as a food source and a place of recreation and vacationing. Kelsey spends time along the Oregon coast in places like Yachats and Florence and enjoys playing on the beach, tide pooling,
and observing unique marine animals….The current and projected drought and lack of snow caused by Defendants are already harming all of the places Kelsey enjoys visiting, as well as her drinking water, and her food sources—including wild salmon. During the summer of 2015, record-setting heat and low water levels killed salmon in Oregon’s rivers. In the coming decades, Kelsey will suffer even greater harm from the impacts of ocean acidification and rising sea levels on the marine life she eats for sustenance, and on the beaches, tide pools, and other places she visits along the Oregon coast.

“Of Aztec descent, Xiuhtezcatl engages in sacred indigenous spiritual and cultural
practices to honor and protect the Earth. Xiuhtezcatl has suffered harm to his spiritual and cultural practices from Defendants’ actions. Climate change also harms Xiuhtezcatl’s personal safety, property, and recreational interests through the resulting increased frequency and intensity of wildfires, drought, declining snowpack, pine-beetle infested forests, and extreme flooding near his home in Colorado. Xiuhtezcatl’s home, including the forests that he relies upon for his spiritual, physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing, will continue to die and burn as climate change worsens.

This kid is apparently already having problems breathing, and will be separated from his family and won’t be able to experience beauty…

“Kiran used to be able to regularly visit his friend’s family farm in southern Oregon but the increased prevalence of forest fires due to dry conditions and high temperatures has impacted Kiran’s ability to visit this farm, as the intensity of the smoke and ash have shortened his trips and inhibited his ability to breathe.
      49. Kiran has family he visits in Olympia, Washington and near Miami, Florida, both areas scientists predict will be gravely impacted by sea level rise. When Kiran visited Florida in the past, he enjoyed seeing wildlife and experiencing the beauty of the Florida Keys, which is a place he plans to visit again. Kiran would like to continue visiting his family in these coastal
areas in the future, but the increasing severity of climate impacts, unless promptly abated, will prevent him from doing so – as large portions of these areas will be inundated by the rising seas.

This poor young woman has already experienced psychological damage, having witnessed coastal erosion along Oregon’s coast. Her skiing career has been cut short, too.

“50. Plaintiff Tia Marie Hatton is a citizen of the U.S. and a resident of Bend,
Oregon. She is 18 years old…. For the past two years Tia has experienced pronounced climate change impacts in Bend and surrounding areas. Tia is an avid Nordic skier, and has skied competitively since middle school. During
2013-2015, her ability to ski was limited by the record low snowfall in the Bend area….. In the future, unless the severe impacts to our nation’s climate system are immediately abated, she will not be able to ski at all, even at higher
elevations…. Tia is psychologically impacted by these events, as it is hard for her to watch the destruction of the wilderness she loves and its ecosystems. Tia and her family vacation around Oregon and have experienced coastal erosion in Seaside, Florence, and Newport.

And she’s obviously a good person, too …. “In high school she was a member of her school’s Green Club, and spent time planning Earth Day activities to raise awareness and educate the student body. Tia tries to limit her transportation via cars…

Bend, Oregon last winter had one of their most severe winters of all time, set records for the longest period of continuous and deep snow cover. And yet this little crybaby is filing this ridiculous lawsuit, complaining about lack of snow in Bend. Any judge worth his salt would take this absurd complaint and toss it in the trash.

Pathetic, delusional snowflakes. They have taken to their brainwashing like a fish does to water.

      • Kris Johanson says:

The sad thing is, people that ACTUALLY face challenges in life – physical disabilities, psych problems, injuries and so forth – often don’t complain and you never know they have them. They overcome and work through their challenges and enjoy their lives to the fullest possible. The people who care for them never complain about it, either. Here we have a bunch of kids who are being primed for failure and defeat before they even get going – and people are getting rich off of them

  5. Advocatus Diaboli says:

Tony, a question about the charts showing 100+ degree days or daily maximum temperatures.

The latest claim I’ve heard is that what matters is the average daily MINIMUM temps, since (supposedly) under AGW they will tend higher than max temps.

What do you think? (Everybody welcome to comment!)

  6. Andy DC says:

This unusually cool and pleasant August could very well end up being and outlier in terms of fewest 100 degree days. Not even traditionally hot places like Dallas and Wichita are getting any of their notorious August heat.
