Science For Progressives

A reminder that progressives are not only experts about climate, but many other scientific topics too.

  1. John of Cloverdale, WA, Australia says:

Being from Australia, I didn’t know Jenny was such a journalistic heavyweight.
“Jennifer Wright is a columnist for the New York Observer and the New York Post, covering sex and dating.”

  2. Gator says:

Slave owners once proudly espoused their belief that blacks were not equal to whites. Jenny will not be remembered kindly, if at all.

  3. feathers says:

Thank you Tony – this line of thinking is both dumb and dangerous!

  4. AndyG55 says:

Poor Jenny doesn’t know her own species very well does she..

The “egg” come your ovaries, dearie. !!

Do you regularly serve them up on a plate?

  5. Disillusioned says:

    This is really upsetting.

  6. GW Smith says:

It’s hard to believe this woman is serious.

  7. arn says:

Maybe one day she”ll know the difference between fertilized and unfertilized.

But there is a simple way to show her the difference:
Give her a fertilized egg to eat-(but don’t tell her). One with a half developed chick inside.
When she is expecting to get her standard hard boiled egg and realise that she destroyed a life she”ll learn something for the rest of her life.

    • Disillusioned says:

One would hope. But, that requires critical thinking skill. Most leftists I have come across are impervious to reason – especially those who boldly make noxious posts like that one.

      • arn says:

The problem with those guys is that their “good intentions” are superior to everything else-even reality.
They don’t care for truth but will sacrifice anything for their dream of Utopia=100%loyalty,therefore 0% integrity.

The second thing that ruins them is submission to the beehive mind and to do the “right” thing of political correctness.
Even if they can free themselves from “good intentions”
they still are conditioned not to offend anyone,
        therefore they don’t ask:
        What’s the truth?
They ask:”What does others want to hear from me so that i’ll be liked and we stay friends.”
((and their illusion is so strong that they consider themselves individuals though they have been completely
        deindividualised ))

They are at first not humans but progressives.

        • Gator says:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth. This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be “cured” against one’s will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

  8. Sharpshooter says:

A picture is not an argument (except for a left winger…or a right winger).

  9. Timo Soren says:

I am not going to post a picture but just tell her
    she should look up:

    Balut (Balot)

    (a supposed Philippines delicacy.)

    • Kent Clizbe says:

      Timo,

Perfect! It’s exactly what I thought of.

This lady’s analogy is totally wrong. A fowl egg is to a human egg as a human fetus is to balut. A human fetus is NOT the same as an unfertilized fowl egg.

I’ll provide the picture–it’s a delicacy in Southeast Asia and maybe other places–it is a fertilized duck egg, boiled after 2-3 weeks.

      Here’s what balut looks like:

      http://www.visit50.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/Visit50-pics1-003.jpg

A much better analogy to a human fetus. It fact, it is exactly the same. Too bad Jen Wright doesn’t get out more. It’s a big world out there.

  10. Margaret Smith says:

On the other hand there is a difference between aborting a foetus, especially a damaged one, and aborting a near-term baby.
The crazies want to be able to be able to abort right up to term. This would legitimise the killing of baby girls in some backward societies. Imagine a pregnant woman at term saying “Just kill it ‘cos I don’t want it any more”.

    • arn says:

Nah…women never change their minds :)

But on a more serious note:

These people are so insane that they would allow to abort a baby during
pregnancy even after the eight month
but on the other hand they”ll fight tooth and nails to end death penalty to keep a serial killer alive.

      Progressive logic:

You ‘ ve done nothing wrong-it’s ok to kill you.
You killed many people=you must stay alive.
(and they use this logic whereever they can:
The worse one behaves or the worse an idealogy is the more they will protect and worship them)

They would commit and/or legalise any perversion just for the sake of feeling progressive.

  11. Margaret Smith says:

I draw the line at 12 weeks.

  12. Tom O says:

Personally, the lady is right, and the pictures mean absolutely nothing. In fact posting the two pictures and pretending they relate to her comment is probably the most ignorant thing I have seen, other than the back slapping that followed it. Why? Because you have made a fool of yourself, not her. She made a statement, but you did not respond to the statement. You responded to your emotions. Neither of you are right, but that’s beside the point. Too bad you didn’t THINK instead of react.

  13. That’s the spirit! A bunch of superstitious males coming up with ways to have service pistols employed to bring back Comstock Laws and coathanger abortions. Fine way to defend science, voluntary trade and production, energy and the free market–to say nothing of influencing women voters when they make the mental associations.

  14. Facts of life according to Ms. Jennifer Wright:

A pregnant woman has two sunny-side-up chicken eggs in her uterus for 9 months and then, after they come out, they turn into a baby.
