I feel dumber after reading his arguments. Can I sue for damages?

  2. RAH says:

What do you expect? It’s Twitter! It won’t be long till they get around to you Tony. Intelligence is just as offensive to them as harsh words from anyone that does not:

Yes I’m OK with restaurants having the right to not serving people. Yes I’m OK with bakeries not baking a gay cake. The question is if it is smart to do so.

    • Robertv says:

Tony Heller can ban people from this side. Or should that be forbidden?

    • Binyamin says:

This is not the same thing. Are you OK with buses refusing to allow black/democrats/republicans/jews to climb?

In the bakery cake, the issue is about someone being forced to take action that contradicts his beliefs. In the bus/youtube/twitter case, no action is required from the company, on the contrary, the company is making an extraordinary action to exclude individuals based on their race/beliefs/political orientation.

A better approach would be if you would say that Youtube has the first amendment right to maifest it’s opposition to conservative views. But still, the first amendment gives you the right to say your opinions, not to shut other people up. Youtube could make a note on conservative videos that the opinions contained contradict youtube leftist values or smth.

        Discrimination is no good

        but pointing out facts
        about blacks/republicans/democrats/jews/muslims,whites etc etc,
        even with harsh language,
        is necessary.
Just the same way as whites get bashed and criticized right
now(that’s why white supremacy does not exist,as whereever supremacy exist the supremacist won’t let you criticize them((eg. arabs in mauretania who enslave black people (1/5 of the population are slaves))
Equal treatment and exposure for everyone.

Private service = private actions. Cant violate private rights.
Public service = for citizens. Cant discriminate citizens.

    • Jason Calley says:

Hey Josh, I agree with you, but as they say, the Devil is in the details. Is a company private or public when it is not the private property of an individual, but is chartered as a corporation (and given certain specific legal rights and responsibilities in the process) under state or federal law? Is a company public or private if it is serving as a public platform for communications? Is it public or private if it is making use of some broadcasting spectrum (or of public rights of way to run cables) as a special usage granted by the government? How about if it receives massive public funds or special tax breaks?

Individuals should be able to do whatever they want with their own property as long as they do not inflict direct harm to others. Public institution must treat all people equally. But what are companies today? It seems that many of them, especially the larger ones, are some mix of public and private. Mussolini had a name for it…
