1930s Was By Far The Hottest Decade In The US

There are 824 GHCN HCN stations which have been continuously active since at least 1920, The graph below shows how many of them set their all-time record maximum each year. As you can see, the US used to be much hotter, and the summer of 1936 was by far the hottest summer.

    If it were 1936, I would have been concerned about catastrophic warming. Why didn’t Roosevelt use climate science as an excuse for a totalitarian takeover? Come to think of it, he may have had that in mind when he tried to “pack” the Supreme Court.
