Five years ago this week, academics led by Andrew Dessler announced that Texas would be hot and dry for the rest of the century, and declared their own credibility.
Dessler made his forecast in 2011, during a very hot summer. Since then, the occurrence of hot weather in Texas has dropped back to well below the 1920-1960 peak.
Their predictions were baseless, and were made by professional ambulance chasers known as “climate scientists.”
According to NASA, 2014 and 2015 were the hottest years in the history of the planet.
Bloomington, Indiana had their hottest July 4 in 1911 (101F) and their two coolest July 4th’s were 2014 and 2015 (73 and 71F.)
July 4th temperatures in Hopkinsville, Kentucky have been declining for a century, and peaked in 1921 at 105F. Their last 100 degree July 4th occurred in 1954.
I posted a direct quote from a 1989 newspaper article on Rolling Stone, and provided a link to the article. “Concerned Citizen” accused me of making the quote up. How do you debate sociopaths like that?
Hillary’s defense is based on her claim that none of the sensitive documents she released to Russia and other hackers (like Guccifer) were marked classified at the time. This argument is completely bogus. Chris Horner found an NDA she signed, where she agreed that classified information did not require marking. She knew perfectly well that what she was doing was illegal and subject to severe penalties.
If a foreign minister just told the secretary of state something in confidence, by U.S. rules that is classified at the moment it’s in U.S. channels and U.S. possession,” Leonard told Reuters in August. Clinton’s NDA spells out stiff criminal penalties for “any unauthorized disclosure of SCI.”
The FBI has prosecuted hundreds of teenagers who downloaded music, but is giving Hillary a pass on blatant violations of national security. Washington DC is now fully corrupt and can’t be trusted for anything.
July 3, 1936 marked the beginning of the worst heatwave in US history. Thousands of people died. Afternoon temperatures in Pawnee, Nebraska averaged 104F during July, and reached as high as 113F.
The winter of 2011-2012 was warm in the US. Climate alarmists blamed it on global warming, and said it was the new normal. So during the cold winter of 2013-2014, the White House had to come up with some new BS, and claimed that a warming Arctic and shrinking ice cap were the cause of the cold.
Two days later, they had fooled 40% of the public.
This is the exact opposite of what scientists said 40 years ago, when they blamed the same weather pattern on a cooling Arctic and an expanding Arctic ice cap.
Compare that picture with Holdren’s picture. Almost identical – except that Holdren blamed Arctic warming and a shrinking ice cap..
CEI is suing the White House over release of the documents behind this fraud, and of course there aren’t any because Holdren just made the whole thing up.

The White House showed “bad faith” in how it handled an open records request for global warming data, a federal court ruled Monday, issuing yet another stinging rebuke to the administration for showing a lack of transparency.
For President Obama, who vowed to run the most transparent government in U.S. history, Judge Amit P. Mehta’s ruling granting legal discovery in an open records case — the third time this year a judge has ordered discovery — is an embarrassing black eye.
In this most recent case, the Competitive Enterprise Institute was trying to force the White House office of science and technology policy to release documents backing up Director John C. Holdren’s finding that global warming was making winters colder — a claim disputed by climate scientists.
Tide gauges show no increase in sea level rise rates since 1993 or since 2004. The CU claims are based 100% on junk science. They used to publish this map showing that their measurement error was as large as 10 mm/year, and averaged around 3 mm/year. No serious scientist or engineer would make claims based on a signal to noise ratio that low.
Even worse, the have added in a 0.3 mm/year Global Isostatic Adjustment – which is completely fraudulent in the context of sea surface height. It might be an appropriate adjustment for calculations of ocean depth or ocean volume, but has no impact on the accuracy of satellite measurements of sea surface height. The fact that they can get away with this 100% fraudulent adjustment in peer-reviewed literature shows how corrupt the peer-review system is.
