A 2009 Reminder That Climate Alarmists Are Complete Nutcases
‘Earth 2100’: the Final Century of Civilization?
May 29, 2009 By ALEXA DANNER
It’s an idea that most of us would rather not face — that within the next century, life as we know it could come to an end. Our civilization could crumble, leaving only traces of modern human existence behind.
We can only hope that the lives progressives live comes to an end.
By 2015, there are expected to be hopeful signs. Experts predict alternative energy solutions that are currently in their infancy will gain momentum. Windmills may sprout up everywhere. Off the coast of Scotland, a sprawling wave farm will harvest renewable energy from the ocean.
They are hoping to destroy Scotland’s coastlines
But will it be enough? In 2015, global demand for fossil fuels could be massive and growing, but experts say oil will be harder to find and far more expensive to consume.
“We have no new source of energy on the horizon that’s currently capable of being developed on a large enough scale to replace the supply of oil in any near- term framework,” says Michael Klare, professor of peace and world security studies at Hampshire College.
If the cost of gasoline skyrockets, few may be able to afford to maintain the lifestyles to which we’ve grown accustomed. There may be a mass exodus from the suburbs, as driving gas-fueled cars becomes nearly impossible economically. But will that convince us to change our ways?
“Until we have a crisis of some kind, I don’t think we’re going to be motivated to make the really deep changes in the way we use energy, the technologies we use, the density of our cities, our travel patterns,” says Thomas Homer-Dixon, a political science professor and author of “The Upside of Down.”
The imagined crises in Lucy’s futuristic world come in the forms of earthshaking hurricanes spawned by over-reliance on climate-damaging coal and other nonrenewable resources. What if climate change in our world is actually much closer than we think? Many experts say we have to start seriously reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 2015, or we may pass a point of no return.
The US has had the quietest hurricane period on record since 2009. Coal has no impact n the climate. These people are certifiable.
“If we continue on the business as usual trajectory, there will be a tipping point that we cannot avert,” says John P. Holdren, science advisor to President Obama. “We will indeed drive the car over the cliff.”
Progressives are always contemplating suicide, because they are mentally ill.
Scientists predict that by 2020, global catastrophes may well begin to accelerate. The human population is expected to explode and animal species may be dying off at a rapid rate. As the world becomes more chaotic, the costs of mending it would grow more and more daunting.
From the video :
Other voices can be heard saying that “Flames cover hundreds of square mile” and “We expect more intense hurricanes.” Another voice says, “Well, how warm is it going to get? How much will sea level rise? We don’t know really know where the end is.” Describing dangerous temperature levels and dropping agricultural production, the news package brings in The Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen, who says, “There’s about one billion people who are malnourished. That number just continually grows.” The doomsday predictions for 2015 go further and include $12.00 for a gallon of milk and $9.00 a gallon for gasoline, if there is any gas at all that is left.
By 2020, hopefully all progressives will be removed from government. They are completely insane.

More Spectacular Climate BS From Jerry Meehl At NCAR
The atmosphere contains about 20,000 PPM greenhouse gases. The increase of 100 PPM CO2 over the past century, represents a 0.5%increase in total greenhouse gases. The graph below shows the frightening reality. Nothing is happening to the climate system.
CO2 absorption spectra is largely saturated by 30 PPM, and the small increase in DLWR over the last century is mainly due to increased blackbody radiation as CO2 increases.

Why The US Must Never Let CO2 Levels Drop Again
Climate experts say that CO2 controls extreme weather. Just for fun, let’s pretend they are correct.
US major hurricanes peaked below 320 PPM CO2, and have diminished greatly as CO2 has increased. If the climate experts are correct, it is our moral imperative to never let CO2 levels decline again. Does Obama want more major hurricanes?

Florida Hurricanes Becoming Much Less Common
Florida’s climate has greatly improved, with hurricanes occurring only half as often as they used to. Hurricanes were much more common in Florida when CO2 was below 320 PPM. It is our moral imperative to never allow CO2 to drop below 400 PPM again.
Florida was hit by three hurricanes in 1926, killing hundreds of people. One of the storms was a category 4 hurricane which destroyed Miami.
By contrast, it has now been almost 10 years since Florida was hit by a hurricane – the longest such period on record. It has also been almost 10 years since the US was hit by a major (category 3-5) hurricane.

New York Times Shows Little Change In Arctic Sea Ice Since 1971
The New York Times is highlighting this map today.
Their map shows minimum ice extent to be very similar to the National Geographic map from 1971
In 1958, The New York Times predicted the Arctic would be ice-free by now
Unfortunately, they have no actual journalists remaining at the New York Times to do any fact checking.

Today’s Featured Climate Fraudster – James Blalog
Boulder is the epicenter of climate fraud, and James Blalog is one of the chief fraudsters. He takes pictures of glaciers moving, and blames it on CO2. His most recent attempt to deceive the public is in Antarctica, where he claims the Antarctic peninsula is the fastest warming place on Earth.
What will the Antarctic Peninsula show that the Arctic didn’t? Or can’t?
The Antarctic Peninsula is one of the world’s most important places for telling the story of a changing climate. Palmer Station, the U.S. research base, has seen winter temperatures warm by 11 degrees Fahrenheit (6 degrees Celsius) in the past 50 years. The average year-round temperature has warmed up by 5 degrees Fahrenheit (2.8 degrees Celsius).
Those are enormous rates of change, tremendous rates that are on par with the most severe warming seen anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere, including the U.S. Southwest and the Arctic Ocean basin.
“Chasing Ice” Photographer Focuses on Melting Glaciers in Antarctica
The exact opposite is true. The Antarctic peninsula is one of the few places on Earth that has cooled over the past 35 years.
Temperatures there have dropped abut half a degree since 1979.
The warming that did occur there occurred before 1960, when CO2 was low.
Blalog will show some pictures from 100 years ago, and compare them to modern pictures, to prove that global warming is making the glaciers disappear. What he won’t tell them is that everything he documents has been going on for centuries, and has nothing to do with human activity.
Blalog makes lots of money by going on camping trips, taking pictures, and lying to liberal groups about climate. His fraud is on display in just about every major airport in the US, and is prominently displayed at NCAR.

Spectacular Fraud On The Other Side Of The Pond
Phil Jones used to show 0.5C Northern Hemisphere cooling from 1940 to 1975.
But he has since erased almost all of that.
This removal of the 1940’s blip was premeditated fraud
From: Tom Wigley <[email protected]>
To: Phil Jones <[email protected]> Subject: 1940s
Date: Sun, 27 Sep 2009 23:25:38 -0600
Cc: Ben Santer <[email protected]>It would be good to remove at least part of the 1940s blip, but we are still left with “why the blip”.
There was never any doubt that Earth cooled after 1940.
The next graphic shows the data tampering that was done, normalized to 1880.
But it is much worse than it seems. Phil Jones hockey stick begins in 1979, and diverges from satellite temperatures by 0.5C . He is showing twice as a much land warming as actually occurred.
After exaggerating temperatures by 0.5C, Jones then claims record warmth by 0.02 C. No mention of uncertainty or the divergence from satellite temperatures.
Science fraud doesn’t get any worse than this.

Fire Is An Essential And Necessary Part Of The Forest Cycle
Greens get hysterical when forests burn, because they don’t understand anything about science, forests, or nature. Many species of trees can’t exist without fire. Aspens are making a rapid comeback in California, thanks to the fires.
The Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Northern New Mexico (where I used to work as a wilderness ranger) have the tallest Aspen trees in the world. These were the result of huge fires during the hot/dry 1890’s.
New Mexico has been very wet the last two years, with few fires – and huge new Aspen Groves are growing around Los Alamos, which was hit by several large fires earlier this century.
Not only do greens not understand the climate, but they imagine they can control it. They are complete imbeciles, who have no business influencing policy.
