We had a gorgeous sunset tonight, and I got to visit with an old friend.

On June 23, 1988 NASA’s James Hansen gave his famous testimony to Congress which started the global warming scam in earnest. He warned of increasing heat and drought, both of which have dropped off dramatically in the 30 years since.

Hansen and Senator Tim Wirth cherry-picked a hot day for the testimony, and then sabotaged the air conditioner.

we called the Weather Bureau and found out what historically was the hottest day of the summer. Well, it was June 6 or June 9 or whatever it was, so we scheduled the hearing that day, and bingo: It was the hottest day on record in Washington, or close to it. It was stiflingly hot that summer. [At] the same time you had this drought all across the country, so the linkage between the Hansen hearing and the drought became very intense.

… What we did it was went in the night before and opened all the windows, I will admit, right? So that the air conditioning wasn’t working inside the room and so when the, when the hearing occurred there was not only bliss, which is television cameras in double figures, but it was really hot. …  So Hansen’s giving this testimony, you’ve got these television cameras back there heating up the room, and the air conditioning in the room didn’t appear to work. So it was sort of a perfect collection of events that happened that day, with the wonderful Jim Hansen, who was wiping his brow at the witness table and giving this remarkable testimony.

June 23, 1988 was one of the last really hot days the US has seen.

Hansen has no clue what he is talking about, but he and Senator Wirth did a great job picking a hot day to start their scam. This is what the US looked like on June 23 last year. Hot in the southwest, and 70 and 80 degree temperatures across most of the US.

Meanwhile, the press and scientific community continues to tell the exact opposite fake news. Ending this scam will be slow with criminals in control of the flow of information.

Arctic sea ice volume is highest in the last eleven years and fifth highest in the last fifteen years.

The thirty day melt rate is the second lowest on record, down 50% from ten years ago. It would take more than one year of continuous summer to melt all the ice at the current rate.

His predecessor, James Hansen, devoted his entire career to controlling policy through junk science and data tampering.

When data didn’t match his theory, Hansen simply changed the data.

Gavin tries make it sound like Katharine Hayhoe is a bystander, when in fact – like Hansen – she has devoted her career to controlling policy with her wildly fraudulent junk science.

And then there is Gavin himself, who is a climate modeler and also generates the fake data he checks the models against.

Of course he doesn’t want people policing his fake data. Because it is fake.

Note that after 1998, the observations are likely to be below the simulated values, indicating that the simulation as a whole are predicting too much warming.

People like Gavin Schmidt and Katharine Hayhoe are exactly what President Eisenhower warned us about.  Funding for their scams needs to be purged and policy needs to be controlled by policy makers who represent citizens – not snake oil saleswomen pretending to be scientists.

According to the Danish Meteorological Institute, Arctic sea ice volume is highest for the past eleven years and above the fifteen year mean since the start of DMI records in 2003.

But fear not climate alarmists.  Your #1 prophet says the Arctic will be ice-free in a few weeks. He only needs to melt 22.8 trillion cubic meters of ice, with temperatures far below normal, and far below the freezing point.

The North Pole normally starts melting this week for 70 days, but looks like melt will be delayed again this year due to below freezing temperatures.

California has plenty of water, but they use almost two-thirds of it to protect Snail Darters and similar critters. Cities use less than 10% of the water.

Why any sane person votes for Democrats is beyond my comprehension. However the same could be said about many Congressional Republicans.

Normally when talking about the hot 1930’s, 1933 gets ignored – but the summer of 1933 also brought some incredibly hot weather. On June 5, 1933, McCook, Nebraska was 112 degrees.  June 1933 was much hotter in Nebraska than the US record hot year of 1934.

We are now used to a pattern where hot weather is confined to the desert southwest, but 80 years ago hot weather was very common across much of the country east of the Rocky Mountains.

During 1936, almost 80% of USHCN stations reached 100 degrees. Since then the coverage and frequency of hot weather has plummeted.

This of course doesn’t stop government climate fraudsters from generating fake graphs in an attempt to influence policy.

The entire point of government climate science is to influence policy. It has nothing to do with science or climate.

Essentially all government temperature graphs are fraudulent, but none more so than the NOAA Climate Extremes Index (CEI) – which shows summer maximum temperatures getting hotter and passing the heat of the 1930’s.

The sum of (a) percentage of the United States with maximum temperatures much below normal and (b) percentage of the United States with maximum temperatures much above normal.

There is no basis for the NOAA claims – summer maximum temperatures have plummeted in the US to record or near record lows. The shape (but not the magnitude) of the CEI graphs is approximately correct prior to 1960, but after 1960 the NOAA data is completely fraudulent and has no basis in reality.

Most government climate fraudsters at least make some attempt at plausible deniability, but not so with NOAA’s climate extremes index. Even some people at the EPA seem to understand that summers in the 1930’s were much hotter.
