The fraudsters at NOAA are making hay with claims that 2012 was the hottest year ever, while global temperatures continue to slide. December was the 17th coldest in the RSS satellite record.

Because we are now ENSO neutral, and we haven’t been ENSO neutral for a while, current global temperatures are good approximate indicators of the underlying effects of CO2 on the atmosphere.
You are forgetting about Chinese aerosols and the ozone hole and the missing heat sinking to the bottom of the ocean.
That’s why I wrote approximate. 😉
I thought it was being transported to the bottom of the ocean without heating the surface and without passing ‘go’ and collecting $200.
