Alaska is going rogue on climate change.
While global temperatures surge hotter and the ice-cap crumbles, the nation’s icebox is getting even icier.
Global temperatures are not increasing and the Arctic is frozen solid.
That may not be news to Alaskans coping with another round of 50-below during the coldest winter in two decades, or to the mariners locked out of the Bering Sea this spring by record ice growth.
Then again, it might. The 49th state has long been labeled one of the fastest-warming spots on the planet. But that’s so 20th Century.
In the first decade since 2000, the 49th state cooled 2.4 degrees Fahrenheit.

Government funded climate nutcases tell us that Alaska is melting and burning up, and is the canary in the coal mine.

But, but, but it’s just Alaska, so it’s just weather. Just like the MSM keeping quiet on the Eastern Northern Hemisphere’s cold winter, I wonder how they will spin the coming cold spell, later this month?

Gimme a break. I seriously doubt that anyone anywhere can claim that they have actually noticed/felt/experienced any discernable increase in temperature at least on any sustained basis.
Also I was recently listening to a recorded broadcast from back during the period where Alaska experienced their warm spell. Listening to it you would have thought that Alaska was doomed, and it was definitely AGW at work.

Andrew , that was my question when the cagw crowd started screaming about Alaska a couple of years ago . As Will has correctly noted the explanation given was the canary theory . Now as Alaska is experiencing a cold spell the cagw crowd pretends Alasks doesn’t matter . Hahahahaha , it is always good for a laugh to follow up on the claims of the cagw crowd as nature shows them to be foolish liars . Every prediction made by the cagw crowd and their computer models has been wrong . Well , they have made many that are hard to verify too such as their 100 year in the future claims . But when they can’t model next month why should I believe their 100 year claims ?
They would argue that all their short term errors average out in the long run. That may be true but there is no way to verify such an assertion except wait for 50 years. Most scientific hypothesises turn out to be wrong.
Alaska’s area is equivalent to 21% of the area of the lower 48. Alaska is a pretty big.
The lower 48 is damn cold too at least where I live.
