The Soviet Union was based on the idea that the government would keep you sheltered, safe and in food and vodka – if you kept your mouth shut.
People who complained or thought for themselves were labeled enemies of public safety, and were vilified and punished. The press was completely compliant, and the upper 10% lived very well – off the work of the peasants.
We see exactly the same thing occurring in this country with climate skeptics and gun owners. Obama says that both of these groups endanger America’s children, and the press is 100% behind him.
There is a Marxist in the White House. Unless a miracle happens, we will be lucky to get it Soviet Union style instead of the North Korea hell on Earth program.
It should be “How the Soviet Union was SUPPOSED to work”. It never did.
