Obama : Out Of Time To Save The Planet

President Obama made addressing climate change the most prominent policy vow of his second Inaugural Address on Monday, setting in motion what Democrats say will be a deliberately paced but aggressive campaign built around the use of his executive powers to sidestep Congressional opposition.

“We will respond to the threat of climate change, knowing that failure to do so would betray our children and future generations,” Mr. Obama said, at the start of eight full sentences on the subject, more than he devoted to any other specific area. “Some may still deny the overwhelming judgment of science, but none can avoid the devastating impact of raging fires, and crippling drought, and more powerful storms.”

Unfortunately he has already run out of time. According to James Hansen, his last day to save the planet was yesterday.

David Appell says not to worry though. He seems to have avoided Obama’s “devastating impact of raging fires, and crippling drought, and more powerful storms” which no one can avoid.

Frankly, I can’t think of a single instance in my entire lifetime where I considered climate change in any of my decisions about anything. Anything.

Didn’t Obama’s investment in the Solyndra scandal already save the planet?

  1. Jeebus xmas, he looks like the guy in the movie that you KNOW is going to turn up about halfway through as the chainsaw-wielding clown.

  2. DP says:

As we know all too well by now, the best way to ensure no progress whatsoever on something is for the Obama Administration to make it a priority. Laser beams anyone?

  3. Andy DC says:

Obama gave lip service to his fawning constituents, but after today he will go back to sleep for the next four years, except for when he plays golf.

  4. gator69 says:

I’m afraid America is out of time, Barry has another 4 years to destroy this country. The only reason we survived the first term is because he is inept, and an idiot.

  5. dmmcmah says:

I think you’re being premature saying we survived the first term. He left us two gifts that will extract their toll in the coming years – the healthcare law and $6 trillion in new debt. Wait make that 3 long term gifts – the last one being a final push at erosion of the American work ethic with a huge expansion in government dependency.

Speaking of betraying future generations …

… the unfunded liabilities are now over $122 trillion.

  7. zip adee says:

Surprised kBO didn’t totally disrespect MLK by saying, “I have a dream…about controlling climate change.” kBO = our worst nightmare!

  8. Justa Joe says:

I think that they’re doubling down on the climate-con now even in the midst of the climate-con being publicly discredited because #1 Donk sugar daddies are demanding it. (like Soros and Heinz-Kerry) and #2 BHO has his stooge judges in place now so it can be legislated from the bench.

  9. nigelf says:

The next Rebublican (or TP) Prez has to use the time between election day and inauguration setting up annulment of all damaging Executive Orders so on his first day he can go from the podium to the Oval office and sign all of his own Executive Orders annuling Bambi’s.

Meanwhile, the London temperatures are falling down….
An excerpt from the JNova article on the spate of cold London winters:

Mark the moment. This is unusual.

Firstly, it’s not just anyone, but Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, personality, and potential Tory leader in the UK… Secondly, he’s confident, brazen and unapologetic, saying:

Something is up with our winter weather. By my calculations, this is now the fifth year in a row that we have had an unusual amount of snow; and by unusual I mean snow of a kind that I don’t remember from my childhood…Of course it still seems a bit nuts to talk of the encroachment of a mini ice age. But it doesn’t seem as nuts as it did five years ago. I look at the snowy waste outside, and I have an open mind.

This is exactly the kind of “emperor has no clothes” article which will cut through… He is staring straight at the people who say “warming causes cooling” and saying “I don’t think so.”
