Obama is taking his oath of office in a secret ceremony today. This is the first time this has happened in US history. Obama’s explanation for the secrecy is that the event is occurring on a Sunday, despite the fact that there have been six Sunday inaugurations in the past.

I take offense with your calling Obama a scumbag. A “scumbag” is slang for prophylactic. A prophylactic serves a useful purpose. A politician, on the other hand, serves no useful purpose.

Wrong. Of the six previous Sunday inaugurations, the most recent four all involved a private swearing-in before the public ceremony.
The six in question were Monroe (2nd), Taylor, Hayes, Wilson (2nd), Eisenhower (2nd) and Reagan (2nd).
In every case the public ceremony was held on the subsequent Monday. Monroe and Taylor were sworn-in at the public ceremony. Hayes was sworn-in privately on the Saturday and then repeated it on the Monday. Wilson, Eisenhower and Reagan were all sworn-in privately on the Sunday and then repeated it on the Monday.
Why do you do this for stuff which is so easily checked? It does nothing for your credibility on other matters.
