Obamaphone As A Form Of Self Defense

At a Brady Center event, its Legal Action Project Director asked retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens whether having a right to a cell phone might be a more universal form of self-defense than gun ownership.

“Maybe you have some kind of constitutional right to have a cell phone with a pre-dialed 911 number at your bedside, and that might provide you with a little better protection than a gun, which you’re not used to using,” Justice Stevens mumbled.

Gun Ownership and People Power

Chicago has the highest murder rate in the country. Guns are illegal, but everyone in the inner city has an Obamaphone. When seconds matter, police are just twenty minutes away.

    Stevens is a blazing idiot.

  2. Me says:

So what they want to do is mandate everyone to own a cell phone and then everyone has to pay more for that service or face a pentaly err something………

  3. gator69 says:

Dial 911, then grab some chalk, lie down and scribe your outline.

  4. daveburton says:

Stevens was the worst mistake Jerry Ford ever made.

The lunacy has raised up a notch since Sandy Hook…

“Belleville police have less than a sunny-side-up view of a local Denny’s restaurant.

The scramble of events began about 10 a.m. Tuesday when five Belleville detectives went into the Denny’s at 1130 South Illinois Street, ordered food and began to eat.

Belleville Capt. Donald Sax said restaurant manager David Rice then approached and told one of the detectives that a diner had complained about seeing one of the detectives carrying a gun.

Even though the detective told Rice all at the table were police officers, Rice insisted the detectives take their guns back out to their cars, Sax said….

Belleville Police Chief William Clay delivered the next course and issued an order to his troops, banning them from eating at that Denny’s when they are on duty or when they’re off duty and still in uniform.”

I’m sure the overnight manager is thrilled.

  6. Andy DC says:

It seems like every five minutes, you hear a police or fire siren. Now everytime a cat is up a tree, or a man is yelling at his wife, people are calling 911.

  7. Andy OZ says:

After you throw the phone at the guy breaking in, then what?
Hide behind your wife and kids?
I’d like to try some of the shit these guys are smoking, because it must be great stuff.

“When seconds matter, police are just twenty minutes away.”

Then, when officers arrive on the scene, they find there is GUNFIRE! They don’t do gunfire. They call for SWAT, which arrives in another 15 minutes.

SWAT gets the scene under control so the officers can do their paperwork, and the coroner can do their work.
