Purely reaction to a situation. Liberals did the same thing here in Canada. we had a very sad day in a University in Quebec, where a wing-nut, shot many women. Everything after that was pure politics and anti-gun groups, we had a gun registry shoved down our throats, which cost well over a billion, and it did nothing…(applogies to anyone who lost someone close, but registering my long rifles did nothing but waste you and my $’s)

This is information that both progressives and conservatives will be offended by, but the drop in violent crime is in the US over the last several decades attributable to an increase in abortions, especially among young single black women with unwanted pregnancies in poor areas with high crime rates.
Guns don’t kill people. Areas with unhealthy amounts of leftist government do.

Guns don’t kill people, gangs do. Check out Dr Robert A Demarias’ Murder Victim Studies. Check out all murder statistics. The majority of the victims and the murderers are on drugs legal as in alcohol and illegal drugs at the time of the crime and both usually have criminal records. When I say majority I mean over eighty per cent.
When you look at the victims and murderers that are related if it is a spousal or live in relationship, same thing alcohol and illegal drugs and criminal records involved. If you look at murders of parents by children, sibling murders, and parents of small children most are killed by blunt instrument or stomping. The murder usually has a criminal record.
Let’s ban gangs. Gang members account for most of the murderers and the victims.
