We have been inundated with rain and snow this month in Fort Collins, at least two to three inches of precipitation so far and everything is getting flooded. The official Fort Collins weather station at CSU shows zero precipitation for the month.

Just look at that dangerous SUV in the foreground !

  2. We would usually tape over or peel off the “IZ”.

I’ve been riding around on an old “SPRICK” 3-speed with the “S” taped over.

Still haven’t figured out how to disfigure “DUNELT”.

  3. Ernest Bush says:

Perhaps they will be “in-filling” the data later, lol.

  4. Gamecock says:

A parking lot ~20 meters away? CRN rating for that station just dropped.

South Carolina, with great fanfare, announced an all-time record high temperature in 2012. Doing their part for “The Hottest Year Ever!”

You can see the station by getting into Google Earth. In the search box, enter Bates House. It will auto-complete to Bates House, USC Dorm, Bull Street, Columbia, SC. The station is about 50 yards north, in the V between the railroad bed NW, and the parking lot east. CRN class 3 at best. Pan out, and you can see that it is in the asphalt jungle/urban heat island of the city.

A preposterous location from which to claim a state record. My protest to the governor’s office was ignored.

Slightly ot but when will those Colorado mountains give up our two Minnesotans who went to play there around echo lake and never came back?

  6. annieoakley says:

I looked at NOAA precipitation amounts for 5.11. 14 an they are less than I have observed. I swear they are trying so hard to manufacture unending drought that they lie every single day.

What are you going to believe, an official weather station or your lying eyes?

    TOBS adjustment?

I’m not surprised there are no readings. It looks bloody cold out there and I bet they don’t get paid much, if at all!!

  10. D. Self says:

The nut jobs are DESPERATE, if you didn’t notice. Even the local city papers are pushing AGW BS. Looks like the liar and thief has called all his minions to war.

    Precipitation Data Disclaimer

The Fort Collins Weather Station utilizes a non-heated tipping bucket rain gage to report precipitation data online. This type of gage delays the reporting of water equivalent of snow events due to the fact that the snow is melting naturally as opposed to a heated tipping bucket, which will melt the snow as it falls.
