The White House has tasked NOAA with producing global warming, regardless of whether or not it actually exists – and they are getting the job done.
- The combined average temperature over global land and ocean surfaces for April 2014 tied with 2010 as the highest on record for the month, at 0.77°C (1.39°F) above the 20th century average of 13.7°C (56.7°F).

April was actually very close to the median since 1979, and was quite a bit cooler than 2010.

Global sea ice area was third highest on record in April, and Great Lakes ice blew away all previous records.
NOAA’s climate claims are every bit as accurate as White House claims that Benghazi was a spontaneous YouTube protest.
Perhaps the Feds are now doing “hedonic adjustments” for temperature the same way they do it for the Consumer Price Index. I can imagine their reasoning… “Sure, April was not that hot, but the winter was so cold that it SEEMS hot by comparison!”
The National Climate Assessment is propaganda worthy of the master (Joseph Goebbels).
Fortunately the people here are not buying it. Judith Curry got it right when she compared the NCA to Monica Lewinsky’s latest revelations.
You can’t count global sea ice as meaningful. Half of it was caused by freezing, and the other half was caused by global warming and halocline stratification of 97% wind thermocline, combined with a conspiracy theory of big tobacco deniers.
Yes, it’s those deniers that are trapping all the heat in the heads of alarmists, causing them to explode. (Hmm…”The Exploded Head Theory of Global Warming”…)
