Or maybe it is explained by the fact that back in 1971, John Holdren, edited and contributed two chapters to a book entitled Global Ecology: Readings Toward a Rational Strategy for Man. He wrote (along with colleague Paul Ehrlich) the book’s sixth chapter, called “Overpopulation and the Potential for Ecocide.” And on pages 76 and 77 Holdren the ‘climate scientist’ writes about the probable likelihood of a “new ice age” disappearing as global warming takes over and is caused by human activity.

Holdren has of course written other thing:
In a 1973 book entitled Human Ecology that he co-authored with the Ehrlichs, Holdren wrote –
“A massive campaign must be launched to restore a high-quality environment in North America and to de-develop the United States. De-development means bringing our economic system (especially patterns of consumption) into line with the realities of ecology and the global resource situation.”

In the book, entitled Ecoscience, Holdren again joined with the Ehrlichs in writing the following –

“Perhaps those agencies, combined with the UNEP and the United Nations population agencies, might eventually be developed into a Planetary Regime —sort of an international superagency for population resources and environment. Such a comprehensive Planetary Regime could control the development, administration, conservation, and distribution of all natural resources, renewable or nonrenewable, at least insofar as international implications exist. Thus, the Regime could have the power to control pollution not only in the atmosphere and the oceans, but also in such freshwater bodies as rivers and lakes that cross international boundaries or that discharge into the oceans. The Regime might also be a logical central agency for regulating all international trade, perhaps including assistance from DCs to LDCs, and including all food on the international market. The Planetary Regime might be given responsibility for determining the optimum population for the world and for each region and for arbitrating various countries’ shares within their regional limits. Control of population size might remain the responsibility of each government, but the Regime should have some power to enforce the agreed limits….Many people have recognized this as a goal, but the way to reach it remains obscure in a world where factionalism seems, if anything, to be increasing. The first step necessarily involves partial surrender of sovereignty to an international organization.”

In an essay he coauthored with Paul Ehrlich that was included in a 1995 book published by the World Bank, Holdren called for a “world of zero net physical growth” and “population limitation.”

Both Holdrens and Ehrlichs have children and grandchildren. Now do as I say not as I do!

Ehrlich has stayed around for 80 some odd years as a result of medicine, clean water, available energy, within a civilization he vomits upon as a profession (or avocation, since he retired).

Holdren contributed zero in his whole Executive Office tenure except a You Tube video explaining persistent subzero temperatures that resulted from global warming.

But we can expect a National Park named after them by a Liberal Democrat, of the same ilk who did that for Rachel Carson

I am currently going around secondhand bookshops trying to find any print versions of Dr. Holdren catastrophic scribbling. Non so far.
I just can not believe that any sane person can possibly take what he says seriously. But by the evidence of he position I am wrong.

        • Brian G Valentine says:

I don’t envy Holdren one bit.

He probably has the task now of coming up with enough idiot shit to stop Keystone. He knows he doesn’t hold the cards, but he is betting there are enough denier haters available to make enough noise to kick the can down the street long enough before Obama leaves office

Sounds like a great endorsement for Putin.

Now that Obummer has broken the ice, maybe we can get him to run for President of the USA. At least that way we would have a genuine, real Commie, one with a few neurons firing instead of the impostor-in-chief, in the white house.
