Progressives proved in the Soviet Union that a completely dysfunctional socialist utopia can survive for many decades. US progressives take comfort in this fact, as they “fundamentally transform America“
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

Yup, Al Gore will die just like Ted Kennedy: fat, rich, & untroubled by the deaths he caused.
But in the Soviet Union they confiscated all the guns and then killed off groups that might make waves. With private ownership of guns it is far more likely that it will devolve into a revolution or civil war here.
I vote for civil war – I mean I think a civil war is more likely (whew, caught myself just in time.)
Yes, but at least we do not have a paranoid, high-functioning psychopath
like Stalin running things – no, wait …
.
Historically, 70 years seems to be a good guess about the longevity of a dystopia. Let’s hope that with improved communications the cycle speeds up a bit.
With plenty of help from Wall Street.
YUP,
Without the support of Americans the USSR would have collapsed a lot sooner.
For example Cargill was shipping US wheat to Soviet Union and US bankers (transplanted from Germany) were shipping gold.
Steven,
We have a standoff between
1. Irrational fear mongers with most of the political power versus
2. Critics with precise experimental data that FALSIFY consensus models
This standoff may not end unless #1 group is promised immunity from prosecution for sixty-nine years (2014 – 1945 = 69 yrs) of deception to avoid possible nuclear annihilation.
I would personally recommend that approach as being in the best interst of society and all participants in the debate.
How does your theory cause any more risk of nuclear annihilation?
My reply will be posted below.
The joys of socialism –
As an expression of appreciation for your courage in allowing me to post factual information – unwelcome by AGW skeptics and believers alike –
Here are nine pages of precise experimental data (pages 19-27) that falsify Standard Models of nuclei, stars, Earth’s climate and the cosmos:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10640850/Chapter_2.pdf
In summary,
FEAR that Earth’s atmosphere might be ignited accidentally in the chaos of August 1945 when:
1. Allied atomic bombs destroyed Hiroshima and Nagasaki;
2. Japan exploded an atomic bomb off the east coast of Konan, Korea;
3. Stalin’s USSR troops captured Japan’s facility and took scientists and technicians to Russia; and
4. A young nuclear geochemist took possession of Japan’s atomic bomb plans . . .
FRIGHTENED world leaders into taking totalitarian control of humans by:
5. Uniting Nations on 24 Oct 1945; and
6. Hiding the source of energy in cores of heavy atoms, some planets, ordinary stars and galaxies; and
SOWED the seeds of worldwide totalitarian science that surfaced in Climategate emails and documents in late November 2009!
With precise experimental data on one side and all the world’s political power on the other, statesmanship is the only viable solution to the current stand-off: It cannot be resolved by a win-lose ending !
Unmasking the Sun’s pulsar core as the Creator and Sustainer of every atom, life and world in the Solar System will NOT increase the risk of nuclear annihilation!
It will decrease the egos of world leaders who tried to take total control of mankind in the aftermath of WWII.
Introducing frightened world leaders and puppet scientists to the actual Creator and Sustainer of every atom, life and world in the solar system:

Would be the quickest way to restore sanity to the today’s troubled world.
