The irony of Obama, the guy who’s not even right twice as day, telling Romney that the 80’s called. Dude, Romney wasn’t high during the 80’s like you were.

Obama has been brilliant. We have been looking at his failures not realizing his successes. Look at it from this point of view. Obama can’t get a carbon tax so he attacks Libya, sanctions Iran, all on propaganda. Result, oil taken off the market and not likely to return any time soon. Cause a stir in the Ukraine, provoke Russia, apply sanctions, and with the Russian gas scare hoping to revive the dying renewables market in Europe. Wackies coming out of the woodwork calling for trillion dollar solar installations to save Europe from the bear. Create a dictatorship in DC by decrees and downright subverting the law to close power plants, make goofy regulations, all to reduce commerce and activity. Obama influenced IMF has been in the warmist column for years denying loans for energy projects. As a condition to get IMF loans Syria and Egypt cut subsidies on food and fuel, a major cause of the Arab Spring and the mess they are now in. Any country wanting to deal with DC must have Climate Change first on the agenda or stay home. Obama has been supporting the war in Syria for years with Al Qaida as an ally. Hoping to turn Syria into a basket case with spillover into Iraq and even more oil off the market. Iraq is now pumping 3 mbpd and Libya was doing 1.6, now a fraction of that. Libya is now so dangerous the oil companies are pulling out. Libya has the largest reserves in Africa and if Obama had not turned them into a basket case it would have been ever increasing production every year. Obama is intentionally turning the middle east into a dysfunctional wasteland. Sacrifice millions to save the planet. Obama has been brilliant and we’re all paying the price with eventually millions paying the dearest price of all, death.

The UN and the gloom and doomers were right. There are now millions of climate refugees. Where they got it wrong was they are victims of climate policy and the sanctions and wars used to further those policies not from the climate itself.

Obama – a textbook exemplification of the word asinine.

  7. matayaya says:

You people have such a warped, stupid view of the world.
    nytimes.com/2014/05/04/opinion/sunday/friedman-its-not-just-about-obama.html?hp&rref=opinion

    • You warped, stupid people made it all about Obama when you made him your messiah and the US dictator.

Is it your intention to continue wrecking the US?

      • matayaya says:

So, you all are nostalgic for some military intervention like Iraq. “America is the way America is today (burned by two failed wars and weakened by a great recession) and because the world is the way the world is (increasingly full of failed states and enfeebled U.S. allies)?” say Friedman. Putin spent over 50 billion on the Olympics and about 65 billion has fled his economy since Crimea. More sanctions are coming if Putin invades more. Wise thinking like Sun Zu in the Art of War will get more success than more Bush, Cheney, Rumsfield bs.

        • This article is about Obama’s stupidity wrt Russia and arrogance. Why is it that progressives invariably revert to straw man arguments?

        • matayaya says:

You always accuse others of your standard practice. Respond to Friedman’s thesis and get off your own strawman.

        • _Jim says:

A thesis from Thomas ‘Loopy’ Friedman? Rich …

Care to start the campaign to re-elect Carter?

        • The same Tom Friedman who wrote “Being From Another Planet”? Yeah, we need to seriously address the serious points put forth by the serious person who writes seriously about serious stuff, you guys!

So, you all are nostalgic for some military intervention like Iraq. “America is the way America is today (burned by two failed wars and weakened by a great recession) and because the world is the way the world is (increasingly full of failed states and enfeebled U.S. allies)?” say Friedman.

You need to learn to write in English, Matayoyo. Word salad is not actually English.

        • Jl says:

“So you’re nostalgic for some military intervention like Iraq.” Remind me, is that the same Iraq war that many Dems also voted to invade or is it some other one in your head?

    • _Jim says:

Or. maybe it’s whenever there is a democrat as president the world really gets F-d up …

BTW, who is Friedman? This Friedman? “Thomas L. Friedman”

The Bizarre World of Thomas L. Friedman
      http://www.geocurrents.info/geopolitics/bizarre-world-thomas-l-friedman

      Fair use excerpt:

an intriguing opinion piece by columnist Thomas L. Friedman entitled “Don’t Just Do Something. Sit There.” … [a] three-fold scheme, designed to replace the Cold War vision, is based primarily on the attitudes of ruling elites. Quoting Mandelbaum, Friedman maintains that, “The biggest geopolitical divide in the world today ‘is between those countries who want their states to be powerful and those countries who want their people to be prosperous.’ …

Friedman’s first category includes Russia, Iran, and North Korea, as well as, presumably, a number of unspecified countries. What they have in common, he claims, is “leaders [who] are focused on building their authority, dignity and influence through powerful states” and their ability to “defy the global system and survive, if not thrive — all while playing an old, traditional game of power politics to dominate their respective regions.” Although these three countries are all authoritarian (to varying degrees), Friedman’s larger argument is highly exaggerated. North Korea is certainly a deeply repressive state that seeks to intimidate its opponents, but is it realistic to claim that it is seeking to “dominate [its] respective region,” which includes China and Japan? Is that really the “game” (Friedman’s term) that its government is playing?

The Madness of NYT’s Tom Friedman
      http://consortiumnews.com/2013/04/10/the-madness-of-nyts-tom-friedman/

      Fair use excerpt:

Friedman, of course, has paid no career price for his misguided judgments and simplistic nostrums. Like many other star pundits who inhabit the Op-Ed pages of the Times and the Washington Post, Friedman has ascended to a place where the normal powers of gravity don’t apply, where the cumulative weight of his errors only lifts him up.

      • gator69 says:

Zactly. Friedman was found to be the most dishonest financial editorialist in a university study on economic prognosticators, mainly because he switches his opinion on debt depending upon who is currently POTUS.

  10. Guys, you aren’t answering Matayoyo’s very important questions about some nonsense by a failed screenwriter.
