‘There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact.’

My ferocious dogs were recently seen guarding Mark Twain’s home in Hannibal, Missouri

Note Tom Sawyer’s fence. Becky Thatcher’s house is across the street.

Mark Twain grew up in spectacular spot, one block from the Mississippi River and surrounded by beautiful hills. I can imagine that he had fantastic childhood exploring around Hannibal, Missouri.

I’ve been there a few times myself. Lots of towns that time forgot in that region. If you ever have the time, just north of Quincy is a little place called Nauvoo, that is well worth the stop. This region was/is known as ‘Forgotonia’.

“Hain’t we got all the fools in town on our side? and ain’t that a big enough majority in any town?” –Mark Twain (The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, 1884)

Well such a dangerous place should be guarded. All sorts of evil come out of it, like “Huckleberry Finn”. Why, if you ever read such a foul book your pristine greenness might be contaminated.

What a classic example of the Leftist mind set – a Warning placed on books like “Huckleberry Finn”.

That same site also had this article: Is Democracy Over?

So it looks like the Left is now starting to float the idea that the whole idea behind the US Constitution is so passé and it is time for a new form of government with THEM not us in charge. Afterall they have ‘society’s best interests’ at heart. Stalin even explains why it will be necessary to kill all of those who do not agree with ‘society’s best interests’

When he [Josef Stalin] became Comrade Number One, his main goal was to consolidate power. Of course, he used Marxism-Leninism to explain this move. Tom West described Stalin’s outlook:

Only one man, the wisest and strongest of all, can be entrusted with the task of building socialism. And this man must not flinch from inflicting mass killings, deliberate famines, and torture involving the suffering and deaths of many millions of people. The Wise Man must employ whatever means he deems necessary to root out the millions of enemies of the people so that he can lead men to perpetual peace, happiness, and total communization.

That should definitely be the motto for Climate Science.

… and the preceding extract from ‘Life on the Mississippi’ is a window into the minds of most climate scientists:

“In the space of one hundred and seventy-six years the Lower Mississippi has shortened itself two hundred and forty-two miles. That is an average of a trifle over one mile and a third per year. Therefore, any calm person, who is not blind or idiotic, can see that in the Old Oölitic Silurian Period, just a million years ago next November, the Lower Mississippi River was upwards of one million three hundred thousand miles long, and stuck out over the Gulf of Mexico like a fishing rod. And by the same token any person can see that seven hundred and forty-two years from now the Lower Mississippi will be only a mile and three quarters long, and Cairo and New Orleans will have joined their streets together, and be plodding comfortably along under a single mayor and a mutual board of aldermen.”

    Hi Steven,
Perhaps the two wolf hounds might like chasing seagulls.
Apparently it saves lives and they can eat what they catch.
