Trenberth Goes Full AC/DC

A month ago I heard Trenberth’s insufferbable rant in Boulder, blaming Republicans for causing the warm US winter of 2012. Now he says they caused the cold US winter of 2014.

The extreme cold and snow across the eastern half of the United States this past winter makes global warming seem laughable. But, paradoxically, the blasts of polar air were fueled in part by planet-warming gases, according to a new paper.

The theory, outlined today in the journal Science, builds on research Palmer conducted in the 1980s and resonates with more recent work led by Kevin Trenberth, a climate scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colo.

NY Times – SUV’s are killing people in China. The UN should place a worldwide ban on all vehicles.

No matter the weather, it is always AGW behind the curtain pulling the weather strings. Ain’t that somethin’! Now send us more billions, quick.

  3. Brian G Valentine says:

I invited Trenberth to debate on a stage at the School Mines, my invitations went unanswered. I hope someday that someone will have better luck than I did.

  4. Susie says:

Even more bizarre, he recently co-authored an op-ed saying this hypothesis was incorrect:

Get the message no, no, no, no!

  6. Bill Pounder says:

In an interview with Miller-McCune.com, Trenberth said,
“.. One way change is manifested is through these extreme events. These are the ones that impact ecosystems & society. But because they are extreme, they are relatively rare and statistics on them are not good, but they are consistent with climate change..”

What a great blog- found it on a search for independent and private weather forecasters. Looking through the articles- I see Dave Tolleris choose to chime in with what all leftist, fascist, socialist,Marxist do- resort to threats, foul language and irrational thoughts when reading anything contrary to the religion and church of global warming. This is where we are at in our country- its 1930s Germany.

  8. PJ London says:

I had to read this 3 times to be sure that this guy was not being sarcastic, but no his is a serious answer to my post on climate change. (therealnews blog)

“Matt Davis (to) PJ London • an hour ago
please dont sarcastically mock people it makes them frustrated and mad. just because the co2 levels are the “Lowest co2 levels in 5 million years.” does not mean the co2 levels are high compared to the recent past…….. the globe is warming and yes it is a huge problem. if you are going to mock someone with facts at least make sure those facts dont “debunk” someone who is right and support points that are wrong.”

You could not get a more profound statement of the “Warmist” credo.

    • tom0mason says:

The logic is inscrutable, I wonder if it can be computer modeled?

    • Just one little typo in his rant; I’m sure he meant to write “…does not mean the co2 levels are NOT high compared to the recent past [pre-1950, say]…” And he seems to think “facts” are just debating points, but what believer in unquestioned dogma doesn’t think that? You’re just mad because his logic–such as it is–is indistinguishable from insanity, so that it’s impossible to reason with him and others like him, who clog the system now. Just think of him as a moody, fearful cat, hissing at you because you moved suddenly near it. He’s not using language to reason, but to express his emotions (anger, and fear) like an animal. When “debate” gets to such a point with such people, anything can happen.

Wow! Whole new meaning to blinded by science….

  9. Gamecock says:

“Vote Democrat, we know how to control the thermostat better than Republicans.”

  10. Trenberth, Hansen, Schmidt–all of the alarmists–are their own worst enemies. Delusion is as delusion does (or, as the common folk used to say, “A dog always returns to its own vomit”).

  11. Cheshirered says:

it’s a form of self-preservation. Both for each individual who advocates ‘cooling is caused by man-made warming’ and for the continuity of the theory itself. It must be, for to take any other (rational) position would mean the end of the theory, with all the fallout that would follow.
