Statistically, there is about a 1% chance of Antarctic sea ice extent being so much higher than the 1981 – 2010 average. Or about 1 in 100 years!! This is UNPRECEDENTED and so we must be in a new climate paradigm.

What’s insulting to them to say they are smarter than climate experts? Kind of faint praise, perhaps, but ..
One warmist’s comment was, “”It’s not the same water doing both. The water is separated into layers, colder, less-dense freshwater on top and warmer, denser salt water below.”
That’s what they believe. They say the surface water is fresher because of increased rain, and summer meltwater from ice breaking off Antarctica. Imagine their scenario: In the summer, meltwater from the continent forms a layer of fresher water that spreads around Antarctica. Rain adds to this layer. This fresher water stays there for 6 months waiting for winter so it can freeze into record breaking sea ice.
Let’s do an experiment. Fill a glass with seawater, add blue food coloring. Add a thin layer of freshwater with red food coloring on top. Let them sit for 6 months. Still red on top? I didn’t think so.
May 21 – very cold SST’s around Antarctica right out to 45 degrees latitude!!
