It is fascinating that our science and mathematics are devised by us to describe the order we find in the universe. The deeper we look the more order we find. All we are doing is finding that order is inherent in what appears to be chaos prior to our finding a system that describes order in it.
…sounds more like “How to think like Einstein” to me. And it’s not “the harmony of natural law” (how can something so simple as a natural law properly demonstrate a complex harmony), but rather obviously the observable harmony of the innumerable forms and processes of the “natural” world (which anybody can see, especially now in this age of hundreds of cable TV channels, and the Internet). And that harmony doesn’t reveal an “intelligence”, it reveals a DESIGN (which then logically implies the intelligence behind it). However, there is more than one design involved, and more than one designer of all that we see today (a fact only my research has uncovered, for the first time in history).

Does time pass linearly, or at any other rate, were last ceturies hours longer or shorter than todays? Give your data and how you’ve verified this.

If time varies all universal constants will vary with it. Dark matter – ripples in time?
My wife uncovered the same thing. I don’t know who was first.
The only point open to discussion is if the intelligence cares about this particular instance enough to intervene when requested.

No way a Gaia. This planet was designed and developed by a male deity, and his name was probably something like Fred or Homer.
As a physics instructor, I taught that – well lets see.
1) light travels at a speed that if it was going around the earth, it would go around it about 7.5 times in a second.
2) The earth is part of the Milk Way Galaxy which contains billions of stars.
3) There are perhaps billions of Galaxy’s
4) We use the speed of light to measure distances and some light is arriving to us from Galaxies billions of light years away.
Now–here is what I want you to know.
—-All of the universe started from a space no larger than a pin head. This tiny volume exploded
and I can tell you what the universe was like 1/100,000 of a second after the explosion.
This I determined by extrapolating back in time. (I also know when this happened)
I do not know what existed anywhere besides within the pin head and I do not know what existed before the big explosion.
You have to believe me because, well, I am smart! and I have a clever name for the explosion, I will call it the big bang.
Now scientists are finding that the rate of expansion of the universe is increasing, not decreasing as expected. Because I know I am right, there must be some kind of “dark matter” which has a repulsive force greater than the attractive force of gravity. Although one blogger here would suggest the expansion is due to neutron repulsion.
So, yeah, I taught this for a while because that is what the consensus says must be true and so does my textbook. Teaching and thinking to the consensual norm exists in more than AGW
beliefs.
A goal of mine is to not let the AGW crap get into the norm of teaching.

I tend to believe that we’re at the brink of an important scientific revolution, that will probably encompass good part of our present scientific knowledge: climatology (must be the first, 🙂 ), particle physics, cosmology and related areas, like solar physics, etc., even the basic Quantum and Relativistic Physics may have to be expanded- in connection with particle physics.
The collapse of Supersymmetry and String Theory are two of the main symptoms.

Those who don’t understand this, IMO, don’t understand sciece.
Nature is far greater than us, we’re just a very simple and localized manifestation, who happen to have a fragmentary understanding of our limited perceptions.

I know. Even if one is a complete atheist, the emergence of sapience should be seen as an amazing event, yet so many serious hard core secularists I meet in skeptical circles take the Agent Smith “humanity is a virus” stance, and a few can’t seem to wait for our (inevitable, of course) extinction.
And THAT thought lies at the core of AGW too: mankind must be destroyed. They help reach that goal by creating food and energy shortage. Burning food and demonizing cheap energy are crimes against humanity imho.
