New Mexico Senator Tom Udall says that bold action is needed to stop New Mexico from overheating and drying out.
The general concept that Washington DC controls the climate is pretty far into the realm of insanity. But ignoring that, his assumptions are idiotic. If you remove the UHI contaminated thermometers, there is little indication that New Mexico is either warming or drying out long term. The state has been very wet for the last two years.
Droughts were worse when I was born there in the 1950s.

As Trump pointed out again last night, the US is being run by incompetent idiots.
It’s worse than we thought, New Mexico’s temperatures are rising fifty percent faster than zero!
Bit like the sign at Famous Dave’s.
“Due to inflation, our free air [zero temperature] is now twice as free”
Have to forgive Senator Tom Udall on his missing The state has been very wet for the last two years.. See it is right in the title – “Senator”. That means he does not have to visit the state but every 6 years for re-election.
Sunsets, sunrises, northern lights are daily reminders of the benevolent, and seemingly omnipotent, force in the core of the Sun that Popes and Communists cannot deny:

DC is done for. Just nuke it and start over.
The permanent Southwest drought has vanished before our eyes! New poster children desperately needed by alarmists.
Permanent = one year or longer
Never before = not within last two years
Consensus = Me and my friends
Catastrophic = noticable
Two more:
Probably = what if
Certain = could be
What would we do with the empty Capital building if we remove all the idiots from it?
Continue using it as a mad-house.
Why would we want to remove them? Those people are dangerous, and do not belong on the streets mixing with decent citzens. Just put bars on the windows and guards on the doors and lock them in.
Tony, I agree – it seems like the same evidence show up no matter where you look: not much trend in ideal rural sites like the CRN. All the upward trends tend to be in locations in or near cities that have been growing over the years. Those urban/suburban measurements only represent a tiny portion of the globe, but in standard “homogenized” products dominate because of their much greater numbers.
As you are developing your temperature data display software, it would be handy down the road to be able combine sites for an area and to select which sites to include for a given area to make it easier to pick the better quality sites and avoid the urban contaminated sites. Hopefully you have already planned for this. I have done enough programming to know there is a lot of work involved, especially on the user interface. Thanks for you hard work.
