The National Academy of Sciences knew about this cooling in 1975.
This cooling was seen in the vast majority of US stations and is still present in the untampered US data.
But for some reason, the cooling has disappeared from NASA data.
NASA used to show the cooling, but have since made it disappear.
Over the last 16 years, satellite and radiosonde data show cooling, which NASA has also erased.

Yep, volcanic aerosols, in particular sulfur oxides did do a significant amount of cooling, which was a forcing of the LIA
However, quantitatively, I think that it was far from all of the cooling.
The sulfur oxides are also strong acid producers.
Now, in retrospect, the greenhouse gang attributes any cooling from the 1940’s to the 70’s to the same thing, but again, to attribute even a significant amount is a reach, hence the need to reduce the cooling by magical homogenization. They would like to attribute the nearly two decade so called warming hiatus to the same thing, but data measurement, I suspect, has caught up to them in more than one way and prevents it.
You also mentioned, regular cyclical earth precession, eccentricity, and axial tilt, the confluence of which is known as Milankovitch Cycles. More study should be done in that arena, as to its climatic effects.
Also, I have been in infrequent contact with Australian Jennifer Marohasy. She is an accomplished scientist who has been challenging the temperature record and more in Australia,–

I thought it was a surprisingly logical piece, especially considering it was shown on SBS – that’s the Special Broadcasting Service in Australia established specifically to cover non-English speaking migrants (or it could have been on ‘Their ABC’ – that’s the Australian Broadcasting Commission for the benefit of those in the U.S.. I wouldn’t want to confuse you!) – and then, right at the end was the token “industrialization could destroy the planet” bit. Clearly a ridiculous and fatuous comment after the lengthy identification of REAL natural events, obviously totally out of the control of humanity – modern technological development or not – and this spoiled an otherwise well-researched and presented program.
