Exxon Didn’t Know – And Neither Did Anyone Else

Climate criminals like Bill McKibben say that Exxon has known since 1969 that CO2 will destroy the planet, yet Bill continues to consume huge amounts of fossil fuels. By any reasonable definition, this makes Bill McKibben an aware and willing enemy of the planet – and an accomplice to genocide.

But if Exxon knew in 1969, why did NCAR not know twenty years later in 1989?

  1. Bill McKibben is a total ASSHAT…

Most Progressive tools are complete Hypocrites in how THEY use oil minerals… versus how they want US to use them…

  2. Nicholas Schroeder, BSME, PE says:

WUWT has a couple of posts about Exxon. From what I could tell Exxon researched climate change for quite some time, decades, and concluded there was nothing there, all hat, no cattle. Was that what they withheld from the public? I would like to see that disclosure made public.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

I would like to see that disclosure made public.

The regulatory requirements to satisfy the attorneys general are very straightforward. In the regular course of business:

      – The companies must continually research all their internal communications including but not limited to everything that was said in meetings, on the phone, at the water cooler, during meals, handwritten in notepads, recorded in voice mails, incoming and outgoing mail, emails and IT systems.

The companies must identify and properly classify everything that was mentioned in those communications including but not limited to beliefs, opinions, random thoughts, statements proven as fact, disputed, disproven, dismissed as seemingly unimportant. For everything else that was not mentioned in the companies’ internal and external communications, an explanation must be given when, how and why it happened.

The companies must regularly disclose everything they found and publish it with all underlying documentation, and with proper indexing and table of contents.

I am glad I was able to help.

  3. Jimmy Haigh says:

But every alarmist has “known” since at least 1988 and none of them has stopped using fossil fuels or their derivatives.

  4. Mr GrimNasty says:

So Fossil Fuel companies knew better than NASA/NCAR, sure that’ll stand up in a court won’t it!

    • Neal S says:

The claim has been made that fossil fuel companies know that AGW is real and that they are funding skeptics to try to deny it. But if the fossil fuel companies own research shows that AGW is not actually real or caused by CO2, then that claim against them fails. Whether they are right or not, is not the point. The point is what they believed. Hopefully this is not too complicated for you to understand.

      • Mr GrimNasty says:

As you’ve commented my post I assume ‘not too complicated to understand’ is a dig at me? Well the topic is “Exxon Didn’t Know – And Neither Did Anyone Else”, to which I posted a supporting link, obviously that IS too difficult for you to understand.

        • AndyG55 says:

Everyone with an ounce of brains knows that the AGW meme is a farce and a scam..

As SG points out, NASA/NCAR do have an ounce of brains.. between them

    • Neal S says:

This is why I should keep my day job ….

After Trump is elected, a former NASA climate scientist is taking an aptitude test as part of a job interview. The question before him is “what is 2 plus 2”. The former NASA scientist asks the HR person …. “What do you want it to be?”

    • AndyG55 says:

CO2 warming is very much a failed hypothesis. There was NOTHING for Exxon to have known back then, except this anti-science hypothesis which, due to left-wing political pressure, still exists in the mind of many a mindless zombie..

The only warming in the whole of the satellite era comes from El Nino events and ocean cycles.

There is NO risk from increased atmospheric CO2 except that fabricated in computer models.

Effects of increased atmospheric CO2 are totally BENEFICIAL to the planet and its life systems.
