Reducing CO2 – To Save The Climate

It doesn’t matter how beautiful your theory is, it doesn’t matter how smart you are. If it doesn’t agree with experiment, it’s wrong.

  • Richard P. Feynman

Climate experts like James Hansen tell us that we need to reduce CO2 to prevent natural disasters. That theory is easy enough to test, because CO2 levels used to be lower, and we know what the climate was like at 305 PPM CO2.

All indications are that the climate was much more extreme at lower levels of CO2. The years 1926 and 1927 brought almost daily catastrophes to the world, including the worst Mississippi River floods on record, and the worst floods in Vermont history.

According to NASA, 1927 was one of the coldest years on record.

Glaciers were rapidly disappearing, and experts predicted that Glacier National Park would lose its glaciers by 1950.

The Arctic was hot during NASA’s claimed coldest years on record, and scientists wondered if the North Pole was going to melt entirely.

Reports from fishermen, seal hunters, and explorers who sail the seas around Spitsbergen and the eastern Arctic all point to a radical change in climatic conditions, with hitherto unheard-of high temperatures on that part of the earth’s surface.

The Mississippi River floods were massive.

In 1927, CO2 levels were very low. An endless series of disasters struck the world, and glaciers were rapidly melting. What we can conclude from all this is :

  1. The climate was not better at lower levels of CO2
  2. The climate would not get better if we reduced CO2 levels
  3. The NASA temperature record is complete garbage

  1. Steve Case says:

Jeez Goddard, don’t you know anything? The experts tell us that by the end of this century coastal cities around rhe world will be inundated by a meter or more of flooding with more on the way. Ninety-seven percent of scientists agree on this point. It won’t just be 1927, it will be permanent. By the year 2099 sea level will be going up centimeter every two weeks! President Obama tells us that Climate Change is the greatest threat facing the future of the word. We have been warned, the time to take action is now. The thought police will be coming for you not me.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

I don’t think we will have time to worry about coastal inundation in 2099 because we will be locked in a hopeless losing war with domestic cats.

The time to take action against global warming is now because the cats won’t take it anymore.

  2. If we reduced CO2 to what it was during the MWP, the Norse will be able to grow barley on Greenland again.

  3. Theyouk says:

This was a delicious machine-gun piece. Spot-on. The best prologue I’ve ever read is at the beginning of John Barry’s book on the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927–and itself lays waste to the enviro’s naive belief that the climate prior to SUV’s was a perpetual Eden.

  4. Stephen Richards says:

    1; Correct
    2; Correct
    3; Correct

    97% correct

  5. Tab Numlock says:

The ice cores of glacial periods are full of large amounts of dust (from desert sand). Warmth means not only a contraction of deserts (the Sahara bloomed during the Holocene Optimum) but much lower winds, meaning storms are less violent. This is classic global warming theory. The earth warms more at the poles reducing the polar/equatorial heat differential that powers storms. Warmists used to admit this but now say the opposite, for no apparent reason.

  6. geran says:

Funny, because “Lukers” claim that “CO2 produces warming”.

    • Steve Case says:

Uh, SHOULD produce warming, whether it actually does or not, may be another story.

      • geran says:

Steve, I have no clue whether or not you have a clue.

The science-deprived claim that “CO2 produces warming”.

Where you go from there is up to you.
