Broncos Game Day

I love Broncos game days. Everyone stays home watching some stupid football game. Meanwhile, we get the trails to ourselves.

What it was was Foot Ball – Andy Griffith

I dont know what all! And I looked down there and I seen five or six convicts a-runnin up and down and a-blowin whistles!

But anyhow what I was a-tellin was that both bunches-full wanted that thang and one bunch got it an it made the other bunch just as mad as they could be and friends I seen that evenin the awfullest fight that Id ever seen in my life!

I did! They would run at one another and kick one another and throw one another down and stomp on one another and grind their feet in one another and I dont know what all! And just as fast as one would get hurt theyd tote him off and run anothern on!

I forgot to tell ya some of them unkempt fellers from the two bunches was hurt from before I reckon with bum knees and they couldn’t stand up for the anthem so they stayed a-sitting and some was a-kneeling so everybody where I was got up and hollered! They did!

But friends, them convicts was the nicest between the two mad bunches and was not a-fighting …

  3. Steve Case says:

Oh! I forgot to say the video was great – the music was much better than a noisy aircraft engine.

The NFL is no longer welcome in our household. I don’t watch football to be lectured to by a bunch of $millionaire cry baby football players who disrespect my country.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

These oppressed Occupy Stadium guys may have to do sit-ins on the field to teach everybody a lesson …

      • neal s says:

The players are being played to do a job. I look forward to the day when team owners let players know that part of the job is showing proper respect to our national anthem, and that if the players refuse to do their job (including showing respect), then their services will no longer be required.

        A guy can dream. ….

    • Gail Combs says:

They certainly are not welcome in my house either.

Also how down right DUMB can you possibly get? Who are the people who go out of their way to watch this games???

Red-Neck Hicks who love their country and honor their flag. What a great way to make sure they boycott the games and the advertisers!

And now it gets even more fun since Chicago sports bars and others are boycotting NFL games until Kaepernick is signed onto a new contract.

Way to go NFL, get BOTH SIDES P.O.ed! ?

Who was to know it was so complicated when we were growing up? I thought it was just a simple matter of taking a glimpse downstairs to determine what was or wasn’t there. In today’s modern world, it is now so much more complicated, according to the “experts”, as there are so many more choices!

  5. Ron Van Wegen says:

Football games are not inherently stupid.
Nor are people who watch them.
Way to alienate a whole bunch of people who might be open to hearing about climate issues.
    Concentrate on climate please.
Please don’t attack people who have different ideas about how to spend their recreation time.
There’s a bit of a nasty streak in you at times.
An apology is in order I think.

    • Andy DC says:

I agree, watching football is fun. But watching 3.5 hours of continuous commercials, occasionally interupted by a play or two is excrutiating.

    • gator69 says:

Sorry guys, I agree with Tony. Watching football is a monumental waste of time and resources. I just don’t get professional sports, and aside from playing, I have no interest in sports at all. It’s like watching someone else eat, or have sex, there is nothing in it for me.

I loved playing soccer and skiing, running track and baseball are great fun, and help build character. All I have seen built from watching sports is beer guts, and spoiled brats old enough to know better.

      • Andy DC says:

There is joy in watching incredible athletes, whose skills we can only imagine, performing at a very high level. But the excessive amount of commercials makes it unwatchable. You could read a good book during all the dead time during the ads.

        • gator69 says:

There is joy in watching incredible athletes, whose skills we can only imagine…

I do enjoy watching top olypmic atheletes, when they compete in the games, but that’s about it. Again, I was an athelete and enjoyed the thrill of it all and learned much as a participant, but not as a watcher. Nature and science (the world(s) around us) are IMHO far better for regular viewing, and so much more rewarding. Teach your children well…

      • Gail Combs says:

Gator, I am the same as you. I don’t even like watching horse shows except for top level dressage and the mule competitions. Of course in the mule competitions the fun is watching the mule make a fool of the rider.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

      Hey Ron,

I enjoy watching a good American football game but an apology?

I can’t think of a rugby or Australian rules football fan who would demand such a thing. I love soccer but I’ve seen soccer fans getting pissy because someone called their game stupid or “metric football”.

Do we really want to go there? We could end up with offensive linemen throwing themselves to the ground and writhing in pain like during first delivery. ?

It’s bad enough watching tattooed NFL multi-millionaires dissing their country and pretending a great social injustice is happening to them.

  6. Buck Turgidson says:

Some wise guys refer to the local nfl team there as the “Donkeys”.
