New York Times – Recycling The Same Fake News Decade After Decade

Thirty two years ago, the New York Times predicted forty days per summer over 100 degrees in Washington D.C., and that New York would become sweltering hot without any beaches.

The frequency of 100 degree days in the Washington D.C. area has declined since the 1930’s, and now temperatures over 100 degrees happen very rarely.

The frequency of hot days in New York has declined.

And Long Island beaches are doing just fine.

Undaunted by facts, reality, ethics or journalistic integrity, the New York Times continues cranking out the same nonsense.

… the global temperature will increase by about 6 degrees Fahrenheit by the middle of next century.
    -Michael Oppenheimer

Michael Oppenheimer is the Albert G. Milbank Professor of Geosciences and International Affairs in the Woodrow Wilson School and the Department of Geosciences at Princeton University.

I’m sure Phil is drafting a scathing letter to Mr Oppenheimer, as I type…

    • arn says:

Woodrow Wilson was the guy who sold the USA to the globalist mafia by letting them Highjack the Dollar via the FED.
Therefore Oppenheimer being the guy trying to invent reasons for a world wide tax seems pretty logical((the FED was created by the banksters after several staged events of financial crysis prior to 1913 to justify its creation to prevent such crisis from ever happening again, resulting in the biggest financial crisis ever(great depression)just a few years later
that would have never happened without the FED))

      The people are not stupid:

Climate Change Policy Toppled Australia’s Leader. Here’s What It Means for Others.

Once the scientists lose the political tailwind, the money will begin to dry up and the Temperatures will return to normal.

I can’t say as much for the MSM readership however. (lol)

        The people are not stupid:

Many of them are. Remember that Hillary almost won. ;-)

Big Brother provides the Soma, the MSM distributes it, and the drugged masses obey.

  2. frederik wisse says:

Meanwhile back at the Oppenheimer Ranch : A hell of a summer .

  3. gregole says:

1986 that story was written. Whoee, what an amazingly poor track record.

Miami flooded by now? No. Development boom.
Arctic sea ice? Millions of square km and it’s 2018 and CO2 at over 400 ppm.
Phoenix uninhabitable? No. Maricopa county fastest growing in nation.

I could go on and on.

“With unusual unanimity, scientists…” Yeah. Where have I heard that one; oh yeah, the “consensus”. What a waste.

    • arn says:

The real interresting thing is that
Oppenheimer and Hansen obviously have the very same ghotwriter as both are predicting the very same BS.
(and if only 10% of the predictions were true(which would give us 10* more time until Oppenheimer is right(=300 years, which is a such a long timeframe that there is no reason to panic as 99% of all buildings would be replaced (and adjusted to sea level rise) anyway)
Many beachresorts would have drowned, many beach-mansion would be unhibabitable, infrastructure destroyed, groundwater be contaminated by salt water, many drowned islands and one could buy luxury properties for pennies on the dollar as they’d be gone soon-
but nothing of this is happening.
The only thing that is happening is NYT telling the same lies for 30 years and still many idiots believe it instead of abandoning this worthless piece of paper.
Without the media AGW is a dead horse, but it is a trillion dollar business.

  4. AndyDC says:

Washington Reagan National Airport, where DC records are kept, is an unrepresentative heat island. Even the Capital Weather Gang (affiliated with the fake news Washington Post) admits that. But during the past 5 summers, there have been exactly four 100 degree days recorded there. That is an average of less that one a year. The 1986 article is another prime example of alarmist generated hysteria that has not materialized, even with the dice loaded in their favor with a (deliberately) very warm biased site.

    • Colorado Wellington says:

      But the precautionary principle!

”We are scientists and frankly we were stunned when we came up with this surprising and extraordinary idea—currently not supported by any historical data but that’s ok because we may collect robust data in the future—that suddenly, after billions of years, the Earth may experience a really bad runaway warming that has never happened before, but if it did it would be so bad you don’t even want to think about it because it would kill billions of people with just a few human breeding pairs surviving in the Arctic and on a space station with women, children and minorities hardest hit but that’s ok because we did all the thinking for you already and we want you to realize that it’s a small price to pay by giving up your way of life and you liberties—even though it’s just a precaution in case we are right because what do you have to lose if we are wrong—so hurry up and be good because we’ve been working hard to figure out what’s good for you and we all have to meet in Bali again or wherever it is this year so we can decide how to distribute your money in a socially just way and we are sure you won’t mind because you wouldn’t want to be deniers and we certainly assume there are no deniers here because deniers are criminals who must be put on trial like in Nuremberg.”

  5. Walter says:

Man did you see that beach?? The horror…the horror….

  6. Buck Turgidson says:

Number of 100 degree days in DC this summer: 0
    Oppenheimers junk alarmist “science.”

  7. John F. Hultquist says:

I’d forgotten about Oppenheimer. His mother must be very proud.
Along with numerous others, he has been wrong for so long — who cares.
I do wonder how much money he has made off this nonsense.

  8. Brian D says:

Drought reveals ancient “hunger stones” in Europe.

No way could there have been droughts back when CO2 was so low. NO WAY!! :)

    • arn says:

No-the drought that startet about 5000 yeary ago and turned the northern part of africa into the huge Sahara desert we can see now
      never really happened.
Also the fact that the driest place on earth (atacama)
was conquered by early south americans and has a 2000 year old settlement called Tulor proofs that droughts never existed.
Even the word drought did not exist before Mann and Hansen invented it.(and btw-oppenheimer is the next leading teutonic name in the agw fake business-there must be some kind of nest)

  9. R Shearer says:

Also, Louisiana is uninhabitable as only 4 million 700 thousand people live there. It was less than half that 100 years ago.

Population growth has slowed, however, in recent years.
