Boris Johnson said UK homes would be 100% wind powered by 2030. The UK is currently getting 7% of their electricity from wind.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

…and birds will be an even rarer sight.
Ignorance? Naivete? Compromised?
How does one explain such policies?
My €$£¥ on the latter.
I understand Johnson was married to a rabid eco-nutter. When you’ve got ’em by the balls, the hearts and minds soon follow.
I’m sure that they are busy developing a “way back machine” so that they can send their scientists back to 17th century Holland where they can learn how to use the ins and outs of wind power to become a global empire.
Next phase: You vill haf electricity only ven da vind blows & sun shinez!!! Dat iz all!!!
Wishful thinking on your side.
You will only have electricity if there is any left after the most equal of the animals(billionaires + their corporations),the government and the military got everything they need and want.
“Live life intermittently.”
Boris Johnson was himself 100% wind.
That one should go in the Hall of Fame.
I can think of only one Green that I’ve known personally and respected intellectually. He was a fertile-minded mechanical engineer.
He rejected wind power out of hand: it was absurdly dilute over time and space. A clever, honest “green” engineer, and still people wouldn’t listen to him.

“Trust the Science”
I have always had a fundamental issue with models. In order to specify a model it is necessary to have identified all the phenomena relevant to the problem concerned, and how they are represented mathematically. However, the stage at which this knowledge becomes available is on completion of the study for which it is intended. Thus, the stage at which we can fully specify the model is when it has become superfluous. It follows that the standards used to produce commercial software cannot apply, and also why the successful codes are based on hacked code produced by specialists who understand the subject matter, and which are then tidied up to meet the coding standards required of the software professionals. The original code remains a work in progress, and not some kind of oracle. It is impossible to prove that it is complete and fully represents the phenomenon of interest.
Dr Lataster keeps mentioning ‘GIGO,’ which he clearly DOES NOT UNDERSTAND!
Yes, he makes many good points, but his ignorant GIGO references are annoying, and raise doubts of the entire piece.
Boris Johnson is not anywhere near the levers of power any more as he has not been an MP since 2023.
The current players are having a fine time deluding themselves that the UK can be 100% powered by windmills, sundials and chicken shit by 2030.
