We took our first hike in a long time yesterday. Eight months of heat and drought have left the creek dry, the Aspen tress dying, almost no flowers, no birds, no livestock and no wildlife. It was almost unrecognizable.
Disrupting the Borg is expensive and time consuming!

I don’t know if atmospheric aerosol injection is actually taking place, but it would interfere with the water cycle, if it were. The most drastic effects would be expected where the historical records indicate that the water cycle is particularly precarious. It would be the ultimate irony if measures intended to reduce global warming were the cause of actual global warming. As long as duff science remains in the ivory tower, it is harmless enough, the problems arise when people act on it.
In an Orwellian world the opposite outcome is the goal – I wouldn’t call it irony for the same reason I don’t call deliberate sabotage stupidity.
no trees dying in Minnesota from drought. the drought monitor claims that in South Central Minnesota where I live we r now in a mild drought. I’m a little bit shocked. my rain gauge shows that we r exactly average in the last 5 weeks in rainfall and above average in June. the corn crop looks good. northeastern Minnesota was in a medium drought, which gave no help to the forest fire fighters but that’s changed and now they seem to be getting lots of rain. but I’m not posting tonight because of that. Google is promoting a new story tonight that Malaysia is suffering from extreme heat either caused by climate change or something else that’s “heat related”. doing a little research I see that the capital of Malaysia is Kuala Lumpur…. excuse the spelling. it’s essentially on the equator and when I look to their weather history for August and this past month of July it seems pretty much average at around 90° for highs. seems mild to me for a city that’s basically on the equator. I attended an outdoor musical festival this afternoon and it was warm. my car thermometer said 87. of course the festival is right in the center of an urban heat island and I live 4 MI west of that Urban heat island and when I got home the temperature was only 83. and I love that 83 because a month from now it’s going to be 63 and dropping. climate change is complete BS. there’s been no change in the last 140 years…. in my opinion, which is largely drawn from the local climate record which goes back to the 1880s
I agree. The only man made threat to the climate is the implementation of ‘remedial’ measures to solve a non-existent problem. Atmospheric aerosol injection seems unlikely, but carbon taxes and ‘renewable energy’ are having catastrophic effects.
here’s the climate fear porn…. notice how many times they mention climate change and heat related. https://amp-scmp-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/amp.scmp.com/week-asia/health-environment/article/3363303/climate-crisis-leaves-malaysia-hot-headed-youth?amp_gsa=1&_js_v=a9&usqp=mq331AQGsAEggAID#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=17863360156851&csi=0&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com&share=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.scmp.com%2Fweek-asia%2Fhealth-environment%2Farticle%2F3363303%2Fclimate-crisis-leaves-malaysia-hot-headed-youth
I’m confused. are sea levels rising or falling? all we read in the news is melting melting melting yet the sea levels don’t seem to be confirming that. https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/1nt4l8x/since_1630_land_reclamation_has_made_boston_over/
Has anybody else noticed that France and Europe have become the same thing? Europe is big. France isn’t…. but we’re told when it’s hot in France it’s hot in Europe. no it isn’t. it’s hot in France. caused by something called a heat dome …whatever that is. check the temps and forecast for Warsaw Poland and Moscow Russia and nothing unusual. the experts tell us Europe is warming twice as fast as the rest of the world. how is that possible? it’s absolutely absurd. does the sun only shine excessively in Europe and not in South Africa or Argentina or Canada?
In Germany we have also had some very hot days (a couple of weeks). Temperatures in my town did not rise above the ATH, but they remained high for a longer time.
In my home town (and home country) we also had a hotter period compared to (for instance) last year. Also in this case, no new ATH though.
In the country where I spend my holidays we also had a couple of really hot weeks but again no new ATH.
That said, the rhetoric about climate change has been softened, because now the governments need to weaken the green deal or the entire EU economy will collapse.
So we see how the GW is really human “made”, maning that, when it’s necessary, it’s not AGW anymore, but el Nino …
:-)))))
in north central United States (Minnesota) I’m paying 15 cents a kilowatt for electricity in the summer and 13 cents in the winter. just wondering how much pain can Germany take? not pain from heat, pain from ridiculously high costs for electricity. 30 cents and up is what I’ve read. I think that’s outrageous. but it’s not just Germany that’s getting screwed. many of our blue States also have electric rates comparable to Germany.
I’m sure some of you have heard the reports that we just had the warmest July in the history of the world. Urban heat island or real? as I have stated before I live in South Central Minnesota and our temperature records go back to the 1880s. (St Cloud Minnesota). right in the center of the continent so if we had extreme heat why wouldn’t it register here? it didn’t. we did have a warm July it was the 9th… tied for 9th on the record at 75.1. the record hot July occurred in 1936 at 78.9. here are the following hot July’s on record here and there is no pattern. after 1936 the warmest July was 1921 and then 1935 then 1916 then 1901 then 2012 and then 1887 followed by 1888 then 2006 then 2011 and then 2026 tied for 9th. I see no pattern…. except that seven out of the 10 occurred more than 90 years ago.
To their credit, the TV weathermen in the UK appear to attribute the unusually hot summer to atmospheric conditions, rather than human induced climate change, as would have been the story in previous years. Perhaps the UK Met Office is no longer playing ball?
in the news…. China is bypassing traditional shipping routes in favor of going to the Arctic to travel from continent to continent…. because allegedly all the ice melted from man-made global warming. hhhmmmm. there is a internet website to find where ships are traveling in our oceans and it shows only two or three in the Arctic. then check out the ice cover in OSI sea ice. ice covers almost back to the average of the last 40 years…. with currently two places blocking shipping traffic unless you have an icebreaker with you. but what do I know. just saying ….facts are stubborn things.
forgot to add…. in 3 weeks the Arctic winter starts again. good luck sending a ship through that
Poor Polar bears are allegedly eating bird eggs because of global warming…. “man-made global warming” is not providing enough ice for them to hunt seals. apparently the authors of this trash haven’t seen the latest figures that Arctic ice is currently about the size it has been for 60 years… at this time of year. https://x.com/TheWCS/status/2087572489194909840. have you heard that Europe is drying up? omg. but 20 in of rain in Japan. hasn’t rainfall always been random for decades???. I think so
How can global warming impacted polar bears be so fat?
And how comes that solitary predators on the verge of extinction run around in groups – What’s App?.
Must be that the last of their kind gathered for a traditional annual bird watch tour.

I think that’s outrageous. but it’s not just Germany that’s getting screwed. many of our blue States also have electric rates comparable to Germany. northeastern Minnesota and southwestern Ontario have had a nasty forest fire season but that’s all changing the last couple weeks. they are now getting ample rain there and the so-called crisis seems to be over. as for South Central Minnesota we’re looking at… if not a record high crop yield it will be close. the climate crisis has been averted for at least one more year. lol
