Looks like a good article. I will be interested in the responses to this when published.
The chart Steve posted are based on published research.
Duh… the responses will be…. The oceans are losing heat due to gloabal warming!
Quit stealing Tony Duncan’s lines!
LOL!
Is it not a fact that when the oceans lose heat it represents a net loss of energy to space as that oceanic heat has nowhere to go but the black void of space? And that as this heat passes through the atmosphere it will for a time warm that atmosphere? That is to say, oceans losing their heat is unavoidably global cooling at the end of the process, more energy having left the planet than arrived; the world is a cooler place, no?
The reason I ask is I don’t know how oceans can cool without that migration of heat warming what surrounds the ocean (air) and that any energy in the air is finally lost to space.
I think you are right.
When we get El Nino it is seen as a “warming phenomenon” when it is really the opposite. The warm water is simply brought to the surface where the heat escapes into the atmosphere and then to space.
Nah, it is global warming that has pushed the heat into the deep water (the last item in the table) and has also increased the earth’s heat which is now even higher than Al Gorrible’s millions of degrees and that explains all the volcanic and earthquake activity….
The recent heat “losses” are just the heat transfer to the sun from the earth that have quietened the sunspot activity because the sun doesn’t have to work so hard now.

Humans releasing CO2 are the leading cause of this solar minimum!
Thank you for the link between AGW and quiet sun. You do realize that a major tipping point is just around the corner and the sun will start receiving warmth from the earth and will explode when it gets to hot! We need to hurry to correct of errors as we probably only have 6 billion years left before the sun explodes. Think of the Children!!!!!
😉
Any day now Neptune will be warm enough for us to move there because our CO2 warming is driving the temperature up onNeptune also!
Hanky panky with the ocean data? Let’s take a look.

ARGO buoys show a cooling trend. GISS stopped using ARGO buoys in July 2009. Or am I wrong?
Well – they found the agw! In east Anglia and NOAA. 😉
What these studies actually show is no warming or cooling in the top 700m of the world’s oceans
I see that the top 700m are CLEARLY losing heat…
The main cause of global warming is do to the fake moon landing of 1969. Dust, stirred up by the hundreds of practice rocket thrusts during the rehearsals in the Nevada desert, circled the globe and trapped energy from the sun. Once this dust settled, the temperatures returned to normal.
That’s “due”
