Well, certainly, the process of educating folks about what we know about climate science, what we know about the options for dealing with climate change, that’s a continuing process. You’re never done with the educational dimension. I think in the new Congress, there will unquestionably be hearings on climate science — I think those hearings are going to end up being educational. I think we’ll probably move the opinions of some of the members of Congress who currently call themselves skeptics, because I think a lot of good scientists are going to come in and explain very clearly what we know and how we know it and what it means, and it’s a very persuasive case.

The percentage of new Sheeple that are taking seat in congress this year will determine how well the brainwashing sessions turn out. Depending on who is called to testify and in what order will be the deciding factor.
Will the Republican chair call in some real scientists?
They’d better. They need to realize, they’ve been given enough rope to hang themselves with. If they don’t represent the will of the people that elected them, there will likely be a third party.
Will any US citizen supply the Republican chair or attack dog with some of Holdrens past failed alarmist pronouncements?
An early embarrassment is in order to set the scene for the rest of the hearings.
An excellent idea. The number one investigation should be the temperature record coming out of GISS. And when Jimmy comes to testify, they should open with questions about his advocacy of terrorist attacks on infrastructure.
I don’t know whether you publish posts from other sources, but the attached column from the NYT by John Tierney illustrates Jim Holdren’s great (not) forecasting ability.

Note that the cost of commodity metals declined over the period for which the bet was made, namely as a result of improved technology for production and extraction. When the projections of “scarcity” of commodities were made that projected an increase in prices, they seem to have no concept of what the magnitude of wight that something like “0.0005% of the Earth’s crust” entails.
Cost of these commodities will increase only because of environmental restrictions on their production or extraction. Prices of fungible commodities like oil and gold cannot be projected on the same basis because, they are equivalent to currency.
Holdren was a noisy glue sniffer and prescription cough syrup tripper forty years ago and he hasn’t changed one bit.
Forty years of living in the real world didn’t put a lick of sense in his head!
Brian:
There is no evidence that your comment is correct. What evidence is there that Holdren has spent any time living in the REAL world?
I know for a fact he lived in a real house, flew on real airplanes, used real telephones, computers, and electric lights.
If the design and development of these were the responsibility of crack heads like him they would never exist in the first place.
They would be fantasy technology based on crack head science
I have known people that “existed” in the real world and did real world things but did not LIVE in the real world! 🙂
I see Holdren and company LIVING in a fantasy world where their view is real and what we see is the fantasy! Their belief is so strong that we are the ones that do not see the “LOGIC” in their visions!
I hope the scientists will be willing to go on the record to establish the degree of certainty they have that a lowering of CO2 levels to 350PPM will stop all future global warming, climate change, climate disruption or whatever they call it next.
That would be fun to watch, since it’s never happened before…
Steve,
Will you be called to testify?
I haven’t heard anything yet. Five minutes is all I need to end this fiasco.
You wish. I wish.
Take away their airplane glue, and you might have a shot.
We wish.
RSS and UAH 2010 numbers in. Both slightly cooler than 1998. 2010 not hottest year ever. But it could be said temperature flattening still happening. Errors bars in temperature data leaves wiggle room. Global warmers will protest and say the earth is warming. But in the world we live in every day it sure looks like cooling is happening. I’ll stick with the real world.
Awaiting CRU and GISS.
WHY! Those answers have been predetermined. They will wait a reasonable period to make it appear they were doing something!
