Worst March Drought On Record In The US

The US is experiencing an unprecedented drought, worse than March 1934.

Utah is experiencing their worst drought in any month.

Streamflow in many rivers across the southeastern US and Mid-Atlantic is lowest on record.

At the current rate of decline, Glen Canyon Dam will no longer be able to generate electricity in about eleven months.  It provides electricity for almost six million people.

Only one marina at Lake Powell is still usable, and it only has 6-8 weeks of usability left.

Snowpack is at a record low across most of the west.

The San Juan Mountains are normally the snowiest in Colorado, and snow peaks there in mid-April.  This year there is almost no snow.

Temperatures at Imperial, Nebraska (and most other places in the west) have been far above normal almost every day. So far this year, afternoon temperatures have been twelve degrees above the average since 1895.

    Since most of Lake Powells electricity generation is for California and at a big discount but when the lake reduces power production it has to buy power from somewhere else, guess who has to make up the difference in cost.
