  1. truthsword says:

Quick lets get Bruce Willis to go up and divert the space rock!

  2. ES says:

    Is this our fault?

  3. BioBob says:

The more you know, the more you know ! Near earth asteroid discovery from past to present day:

  4. Nobama says:

There might be some inordinate event that ends each interglacial so rapidly. I’d been thinking it might be vulcanism, driven by celestial mechanics, setting off a few supervolcanoes. But periodic celestial visitors is another possibility.

Here’s some entertainment – Neil Degrass Tyson on using a tractor to pull an asteroid away from Earth.

  7. Mike Davis says:

The one that hits will not be discovered until just before it hits!

  8. Myron Mesecke says:

At least they are talking about something that is actually out there instead of making things up like man made climate change.

  9. Eco-geek says:

Its only a tiddler. Many people in the UK have seen a much bigger one flying through the atmosphere four times now in the last quarter century. On the data I have I estimate its diameter as about 2.5 +/- 1 mile. How do I know its an asteroid? When you see a giant space rock flying overhead almost the size of your palm at arms length, completely silently with flickering flame swathing its mostly dark head you know what you have seen.

I have some pretty digital drawings if the site would care to publish them. I am hoping to get other confirmatory sightings and descriptions from elsewhere in the world.

Because of its affinity for the University of East Anglia, its ability to create significant climate change and above all its destructive potential I have decided to name it after UAEs most celebrated incumbent: Phil Jones (The Destroyer).

    • Mike Davis says:

That was Phil going back to visit his home planet! ORNL is just west of my location and I occasionally see some of their ETVs passing overhead. ( Extra Terrestrial Vehicles)

  10. Dave N says:

This asteroid is clearly a product of AGW, especially if it threatens the Earth.
