   OT. To anyone interested the Straits of Mackinaw is ice from shore to shore. When I went over this morning it was ice as far east and west as I could see.

     That area has been getting good snow lately and has a winter weather warning from now til Saturday I think. We are to get lake effect of 4 plus inches every couple of days. I have seen sleds leaving the Soo and heading out on the trials, but I cannot say what the trails are like.

   Sounds like the Sea of Okhotsk is getting worse again. The rescue effort has been suspended due to bad weather.

   Usually when some place in hot, another place is cold. That is what in meteorology is called a “hgh amplitude pattern”. Those have also been with us since the beginning of time.
