The Super Outbreak is the largest tornado outbreak on record for a single 24-hour period. From April 3 to April 4, 1974, there were 148 tornadoes confirmed in 13 US states, including Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and New York; and the Canadian province of Ontario. It extensively damaged approximately 900 square miles (1,440 square kilometers) along a total combined path length of 2,600 miles (4,160 km).[1]
The Super Outbreak of tornadoes of 3–4 April 1974 remains the most outstanding severe convective weather episode of record in the continental United States. The outbreak far surpassed previous and succeeding events in severity, longevity and extent.
How many PPM did we have in 1925 when the Tri State Tornado (MO, IL, IN) killed close to 700 people?
How many PPM did we have in 1883, when over 500 died in SC from a swarm of tornadoes or in 1840 when over 300 were killed by a single tornado in MS?
Using Agw logic the ppm back then was higher despite the fact it was lower. you know! the high-low.
I remember that tornado outbreak. My grandpa took me with him to see a friend of his that had a HUGE tree in his front yard that had been knocked down by a tornado. That family had picnics under that tree every summer. The mom was crying, hardly able to talk. Tall roots were torn up out of the ground and standing straight up in the air. The world scared the hell out of me at that moment.
I had 3 friends killed in the tornado outbreak in NC in 1984. A tornado 3/4 of a mile wide cut a swath 25 miles long through eastern NC and flattend everything in its path. I was working 3rd shift at pharmaceutical manufacturing plant that night and the storm passed about a mile away. It nearly lifted the roof off the place.
Unfortunately these kinds of tornado outbreaks happen on cooler years, as somehow the AGW crowd forgets the simple physics of storms cold + warm = storm.
An example of “just another number on a piece of paper”. Hansen will remain a ‘muzzled/un-muzzled’ idiot whether the PPM number is 250, 350, or 550.
