And now :

“After careful consideration, the president of the United States has made the determination that Section 3 of the Defense of Marriage Act as applied to same-sex couples who are legally married under state law, violates the equal-protection component” of the U.S. Constitution, announced Atty. Liberals raised hell about every little thing when they were not in power….

    …not a word now

No, and I don’t believe there’s anything he wouldn’t do either.

Nothing to fear, Canada has had full same sex marriage laws now for over five years country wide and over seven years in some provinces, and the country hasn’t imploded or gone down the tubes as was feared by those with beliefs in bronze age endarkened mythologies as if they are real. The USA will get there eventually and be fine as people grow up and mature about equal rights for all.

    • Does Canadian law stop Obama from lying to get elected?

      • pwl says:

Canada has the same problem as you have in the USA, politicians always lie to get elected. I’d be very surprised to find any politician who has kept all their promises made during an election and that’s regardless of party.

Like uses car salesmen, politicians from all parties are known liars. What is more surprising is that people seem to forget this each election cycle with all the frenzy.

If you want to do something about it you’d need some sort of honesty in election laws… but good luck with that… as it’s the politicians that would get to make that law and they’ll not put themselves at risk of going to jail with such honesty in politics reform.

  4. pwl says:

Oh, and as for politicians not keeping promises during an election? You’re kidding right? Everyone when I was growing up knew that politicians could never ever be trusted to keep promises made during an election… don’t know why people keep falling for their sales tricks and it doesn’t matter whether they are left or right, liberal or conservative, democrat or republican or libertarian or tea party… they all will say just about anything to get elected then all bets are off once they are in office. It’s like they become a different person.

  5. Andy Weiss says:

His position is evolving, as is the prvailing view. i. e., keep the Government out of our bedrooms and as much else as possble.

  6. the president of the United States has made the determination

In the United States it does not matter what the President’s personal opinion on anything is. The President is not a monarch, not a king. He does not rule the people by his opinions. Laws originate in the House as a bill by people acting out the will of the people they were elected by. After a process the bill ends up at the Presidents desk to be signed into law. Laws are not made, or undone, at will by the President. He has acted unilaterally on gay marriage. There will be a large percentage of people that will be unhappy, and angry. He is lowering his rank among worst Presidents ever. He has two years to pass Jimmy Carter as worst ever. And odds are very good he will do it in splendid form.
