EPA : Chicago Heat To Make Lake Michigan To Dry Up

Midwest:

  • During the summer, public health and quality of life, especially in cities, will be negatively affected by increasing heat waves, reduced air quality, and increasing insect and waterborne diseases. In the winter, warming will have mixed impacts.
  • Significant reductions in Great Lakes water levels, which are projected under higher emissions scenarios, lead to impacts on shipping, infrastructure, beaches, and ecosystems.
  • The likely increase in precipitation in winter and spring, more heavy downpours, and greater evaporation in summer would lead to more periods of both floods and water deficits.
  • While the longer growing season provides the potential for increased crop yields, increases in heat waves, floods, droughts, insects, and weeds will present increasing challenges to managing crops, livestock, and forests.
  • Native species are very likely to face increasing threats from rapidly changing climate conditions, pests, diseases, and invasive species moving in from warmer regions.

Chicago had their coldest summer on record in 2009, which must have been the calm before the storm.

Is it just me or do these various AGW inspired pronouncements not all sound like first grade exercises?
Class, the world is getting warmer. What will happen, class?
This past winter is a classic illustration, as we segue from “with AGW, snow will be a rare event” to ‘snow is going to increase because of the increased moisture in the atmosphere brought about by AGW’.
It just seems there has been little if any serious thought as to what a warmer world would actually look like.
Maybe the people who are pitching this don’t believe it either.

I refuse to believe these supposedly otherwise intelligent people could possibly believe this stuff, either.

All of this is true!!!! http://www.numberwatch.co.uk/warmlist.htm

      • DERise says:

Full understanding of global warming debate can all be summed up from watching an excerpt from the house Commitee debates on the no defunct cap-n-steal bill, a question put to the always (dis)Honorable Henry Waxman, Bill’s author and Commitee Chairman as to the meaning of part of the bill. His eloquent answer, “You talking to me? How should I know what it means.”.

  2. suyts says:

This is the garbage that simply sets me off.

“The likely increase in precipitation in winter and spring, more heavy downpours, and greater evaporation in summer would lead to more periods of both floods and water deficits.”

So, we’re going to have more precipitation and suffer droughts. Apparently, the EPA is under the impression that mankind hasn’t progressed since the stone age. Do they think we’ve suddenly lost the ability to create dams and canals? Or do they think evaporation will be so great as to evaporate more than it will precipitate?

AND WE PAY THESE LUNATICS TO SPEW THIS BABBLING BS!!!

  3. Howard T. Lewis III says:

This is the same ‘sit there’ dingbat EPA that ignored the labels on BP’s corexit cans and said they did not want BP to put this stuff in the water and sat there with their finger in there butt after BP sprays out well over a million gallons of the stuff to make money. This is the same EPA that rolls over and plays dead on command from U.S. Regulation violators. And this is the same EPA that is outclassed by used, wet toilet paper. But they can have you shot on B.O.’s signature. KILL YOUR TELEVISION SET.

The last decade may have been lower, but nothing historic going on.

  5. glacierman says:

So, sea level will rise to scary levels, but the Great Lakes will go dry. Man those are some magical molecules CO2 are.

  6. nofreewind says:

Glacierman says:>So, sea level will rise to scary levels, but the Great Lakes will go dry
Glacierman, you just don’t understand “science”. The great lakes will flood and go dry, what part of that don’t you understand??
Science says:>would lead to more periods of both floods and water deficits.
This is all from increasing CO2>increased Water Vapor>increased precipitation and drought!
    all very “likely”.
    Go to
    http://www.climate4you.com/
and click the Water Vapor tap, can’t you see how the decreasing water vapor would do all this? it’s science man!

    • glacierman says:

Sorry, my bad. I guess I should have understood how moistdry and coldwarm would lead to simultaneous flooddrought.

Negatively affected/? Is that like death – or worse?

Do these guys do any research?

  8. Andy Weiss says:

If it rains its global warming, if it doesn’t rain it’s global warming, etc., etc. , etc.

  9. Martius says:

This all boils down to one truth keep doing the same things and watch the results be the same.
Our Planet is a living organism there are so many extremes happening that change the atmosphere on the surface alone. Every one who lives in Chicago knows that 3days of constant 85-95 degree temps will yield one of two atmospheric anomalies Hail the size of dimes which is rare but not unheard of (I have a few that was collected in my freezer) and heavy rain that usually last only minutes. Now what produces the flooding is water not being drained or pumped from the surface faster than it falls, usually counts for 98% of all floods in Chicago. Not returning the water back to the source creates a level deficit, until balance some what becomes restored. Eventually all things must come to an end, whether our lifetime or another or we me end before the lake does after all everything and everyone is part of the 100% statistic We all Die Some Day.! 🙂
