   Remember, this is the same Mitchell mentioned by the AMS “Myth” paper by Peterson, Connolley and somebody else (yes, THAT Connolley!), using the immortal words:

   “By the early 1970s, when Mitchell updated his work (Mitchell 1972), THE NOTION OF A GLOBAL COOLING TREND WAS WIDELY ACCEPTED, albeit poorly understood”

   Of course, none of the warmists (truly deniers of history, that lot..) will ever accept that GLOBAL COOLING means “global cooling” and WIDELY ACCEPTED means “there was a consensus”.
